Railway Hotel Bunyip Meeting

The Bunyip Rodeo Group Distribution Day was held on Sunday 19 April at the Railway Hotel.
This year, the Bunyip Rodeo Group proudly distributed over $60,000 to 16 local community groups and organisations including:
BRAG, Bunyip Connect, Bunyip Tennis Club, Bunyip Netball Club, Bunyip Football Club, Bunyip Strikers Soccer Club, Bunyip Fire Brigade, Bunyip Men’s Shed, Variety Bash, Bunyip & District Newsletter, Bunyip Hall, Bunyip Landcare Group, Bunyip Junior Football Club, Hillview Aged Care, Iona Cricket Club and Bunyip Cemetery.

In addition, hay was donated to Aussie Hay Runners, and the Rodeo Group also assisted with improvements to the back oval and helped erect a verandah on the rear container.
It was a great afternoon of networking, catching up, and celebrating what can be achieved when community groups work together. Planning for 2027 has already begun.

Our AGM will be held in August, and the Rodeo Group is always looking for new helpers and volunteers. If you’re interested in getting involved and supporting the community, please get in touch with us.

We’re incredibly grateful to have received a Southside Racing Community Grant to help build our new verandah this year!

Thank you Southside Racing, Club Officer, and Cardinia Club Pakenham for backing local initiatives like ours.

This project truly was a community effort, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life — Bunyip Junior Football Club, Bunyip Football Club, Gravity Rigging & Machinery Pty Ltd, SJ Shepard Homes, Fitzgerald Concreting and our BRG rodeo committee.

It takes a community to get projects like this off the ground, and this is a perfect example of what can be achieved when local groups and businesses work together.

The verandah was proudly used as the Rodeo bar this year and will continue to serve the community throughout the season, including Auskick.

And just like that, the 2026 Bunyip Rodeo is done and dusted 🤠
We’re proud to share that all leftover hay from this year’s event has been donated to Aussie Hay Runners, where it’s now heading north to support farmers doing it tough 🧑‍🌾 🫶

A substantial amount of planning and hard work goes into bringing the Rodeo to life each year, and we are proud of how the day came together.
