Bunbury Felting Group

We are an active and innovative group of wool fibre artisans from all over the Southwest of Western Australia. We meet on the first Friday of each month, February to December at the Stirling Street Arts Centre, on the corner of Stirling and Charles Streets, Bunbury. We learn, share our knowledge and skills, practice and have fun and adventures through the art of felting. We explore the art of felt

making in all its forms, including but not restricted to:

Wet Felted:
o Clothing, scarves, and accessories
o 3-D sculptural works
o Nuno felted creations. o Felted 2-D pictures. Needle felted:
o 2-D and 3-D forms. At each meeting we have a scheduled demonstration by one of our talented members, sharing the amassed experience and expertise gathered over years of practise. We then have the time to try what has been demonstrated. We have Show and Tell, so make sure you bring in your work to share with us. This is another way to learn and get ideas. We host occasional workshops with external (local, interstate, OS) tutors. We organize exhibitions of members’ work and provide opportunities for members to sell their creations. We take an active part in the events organised by SSAC. We also have an extensive library of felt related books and other materials for members to borrow. New members are welcome.
