PROBLEM! We've got too many fantastic photos from our gala concert, A Night at the Opera 🤩

So don't mind us as we spend the next few weeks reliving the magic and sharing these gorgeous snaps from Great Minds Media 📸

Die Fledermaus was one of our earliest full-scale productions, first performed by SWOC in 1993 before being toured to 8 towns across WA. We were thrilled to revisit it at our gala concert with 3 show-stopping numbers:

🌟 Adele's Laughing Song
🤵 Orlofsky's Song

SWOClets are back in the rehearsal room for Term 4 with exciting things ahead 🎶

Our talented junior choristers shone bright at our recent 40th anniversary gala concert, and they're already working hard for their next performances.

SWOClets Director Jenean, Assistant Director Isobel, and accompanist Fionnuala are preparing the SWOClets for our end-of-year Christmas Concert 🎄 This term the young performers are also learning from Acting Coach Yarno Pyne, who is helping them tell stories through their singing and bring characters to life 🎭

If you've got a child aged 10-17 who loves to sing and be on stage, SWOClets might be the place for them! 📧 Email us at [email protected] or visit www.swoc.com.au/swoclets to find out more about how your child can get involved

🎼 A lasting tribute to a SWOC legend ❤️

In a very special moment during our 40th anniversary gala concert, A Night at the Opera, we were delighted to honour our beloved Musical Director, Marguerite Monagle, with an extraordinary surprise: the official naming of the Marguerite Monagle Orchestra Pit at BREC.

Marguerite has been part of South West Opera Company since our very beginnings in 1986, dedicating more than 35 years to leading our music, guiding countless productions, and inspiring generations of singers and musicians across the South West.

For decades, she has stood in that very orchestra pit, bringing music to life and helping create memories for performers and audiences alike. To now see her name permanently recognised in the space where she has given so much is a truly fitting tribute to her extraordinary contribution to SWOC and our wider arts community.

Thank you, Marguerite, for 40 years of music, mentorship, passion, and friendship. We are so proud to celebrate your incredible legacy 🎶

✨ What a night! ✨

What an incredible way to celebrate 40 years of our Company. From the first note to the final curtain, A Night at the Opera was a celebration of music, friendship, memories, and the wonderful people who have made SWOC what it is today ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre and helped make our 40th Anniversary Gala Concert such a special night. To our performers, musicians, crew, volunteers, and everyone behind the scenes - thank you for sharing your talent, passion, and hard work.

Our sincere thanks also go to SWOC Patron Alison Piacentini, event sponsor Southern Ports, and to all our other wonderful supporters. Thank you for helping us bring this milestone celebration to the stage.

Most of all, thank you to our audiences for singing along, laughing, applauding, and celebrating 40 years of SWOC with us!

Here’s to the memories we’ve made, the music still to come, and the next chapter of the South West Opera Company. 🥂🎶
