Northcote Festival 2026

Sunday, 23 August was another special day at The Northcote Festival , and our third year being part of this wonderful celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to Father Philip and the Northcote Festival organisers for creating such a welcoming space for the Greek community to come together, celebrate and share our love of faith, music, dance and culture.

To all the dancers from the many dance groups across Melbourne who took part, and to all the musicians who filled the day with music, you were the heart of the celebration. The energy, smiles, dancing and music created an incredible atmosphere that could be felt throughout the festival. It was wonderful to see everyone coming together, enjoying each other’s performances and simply celebrating being part of such a vibrant Greek community.

A special mention to everyone working behind the scenes, helping things run smoothly and making the day possible. And to the parents, families and friends who are always there supporting, encouraging, helping with costumes, rehearsals, transport and everything in between — we truly appreciate you.

It takes so many people to create a day like this, and it was beautiful to see everyone contribute in their own way.

What an atmosphere we created together. What a beautiful celebration of our Greek community.

What a beautiful celebration of community, culture and Greek heritage for Dekapentavgousto on Sunday, 16 August.

A heartfelt appreciation to all of our incredible dance groups and dancers who participated and filled the day with energy, pride and a wonderful celebration of our Greek heritage. Without fail your passion helps bring our Greek heritage to life through music, dance and tradition, creating moments that connect us to where we come from and inspire where we are going.

We also extend our sincere gratitude to all of our stallholders, supporters and everyone who contributed to making the day such a success. Your presence and support helped create a wonderful atmosphere for our entire community.

Most importantly, the collaboration between Pontiaki Estia and Panagia Soumela - Greek Orthodox Parish of Keilor East continues to go from strength to strength. We are proud of what we are building together and excited for what lies ahead.

And this is only the beginning… plans are already in motion for next year, with bigger and better things to come!

Together, we continue to celebrate our faith, our culture, our traditions and our Greek heritage.
