✨ MEET OUR MENTORS ✨ EOIs OPEN LINKINBIO

Bringing care, cultural understanding and a commitment to creating spaces where people of colour can contribute fully and unapologetically, I introduce to you our 2026 mentors.

We’ll also invite guest mentors throughout the program, sharing their own expertise, perspectives and experiences with you.

This year, Kwabo Incubator is centred around creative production, with three streams

🎭 Artistic Production with Effie Nkrumah
Working within the creative vision of the 2026 incubator, Effie will guide participants to explore, develop and contribute their own ideas, learning how to translate a creative direction into an artistic experience.

🎪 Creative & Event Management with Gracieuse Amah
Our Lead Mentor & Director, Gracieuse will guide participants through the creative and event management process, from developing an idea to planning, coordination and making it happen.

🎬 Stage & Production Management with Jennie Le
Jennie will take participants behind the scenes to explore the skills, systems and problem-solving that bring a production together — from planning and coordination to what happens on the day.

Three mentors. Three streams. Three different areas of creative production.

And a whole lot of knowledge, experience and lived wisdom to share.

You don’t need professional experience to be part of the next generation supporting POC artists in Victoria.

Your experience of culture already gives you valuable lived knowledge. You understand Black and multicultural art, communities and stories.

Are you an artist wanting to learn the production side? Looking to diversify your income? Always supporting an artist behind the scenes?

With three streams and mentors who have walked the talk, this is an opportunity to build on what you already know, develop industry skills and strengthen the people and practices that support POC artists in Victoria.

Last year, we watched our participants come together, learn, create, collaborate, rehearse and eventually take the stage. ❤️

But here’s the thing…

It takes more than artists to create art.

Behind every performance, festival and production are the people who make it happen. The producers, the stage managers, event makers, and creative minds shaping the vision, supporting artists managing the details and bringing it all together.

✨ This year, Kwabo Incubator is bringing those behind-the-scenes creatives to the forefront.

As always, Kwabo Incubator 2026 is for and by POC creatives who want to explore, learn and build their creative future behind the scenes. This year we are also providing opportunities for paid placements 🔥🔥
