“HOT PEACH HONEY”
90cmx90cm
Framed in oak
Acrylic on canvas
something about the light in this piece seems to take on a different ambience depending on where you’re standing in the room
it was important for me to recreate the fiery vibrancy of the clouds that afternoon because each tone had its own place.
I tend to never use colours straight from the tube as I like to mix my own but the lavender (or would you call it periwinkle?) and butter yellow from Derivan were so perfect to contrast off this cloud band that I just went with it and enjoyed balancing the deep blue of the day that tends to linger up high to the brightest part of the horizon cast by the sun
This concept was a big reason behind my choice of wanting to call the collection “afterglow” because it just goes to show that sometimes you have to wait around a little longer after the sunset to see something even better
If you look closely too you can see the little sliver of the moon hanging 🌙
