It is with great sadness that we share this. Bek was part of our Goolarri family - starting around 2015 when she started studying with us to get her Cert III and Cert IV in Screen Media. A few years later Bek joined our team as a casual trainer, working at 6DBY and training students at West Kimberley Regional Prison in radio broadcast and media skills. We proudly stood with her in 2018 at Converge in Sydney when she won the First Nations Media Australia award for BestTraining and Development. Bek was such an effervescent person who always lived life to the fullest. She lit up the room when she walked into it and she was a natural trainer. Biggest love and respect to Bek’s mum Val, her siblings and her family and friends. Our love and thoughts are with you all. 💙❤️💙❤️

What an incredible four nights!⚡️
BECAUSE WE’RE BLAK reminded us exactly why we do this work.

Seeing our community come together night after night, laughing, crying, and feeling every moment of this play, was something so special.

Thank you to everyone who played a role in making this amazing play what it is.

A huge congratulations to Melody Dia and our partners at Iljiberri on this powerful piece of storytelling!

We’d love to hear what it meant to you. Please take a moment to fill in the survey below 👇🏾

National Sorry Day 26 May, From Sorry to Action.

The theme for this year’s National Sorry Day is From Sorry to Action. The call is clear, we must move from words to action, and this needs to happen now, not in another decade.

Acknowledging past harm is important, but acting to
address it is critical. Sorry signals compassion, action
delivers justice.

We encourage you to mark National Sorry Day on 26 May,
and to stand with us to ensure this day is part of an
ongoing commitment to truth-telling and healing.
