The amazing thing about history is that the more time you spend in it, the more the story unfolds. Last weeks tour took us back to 1942 and the unbelievable story of Theo Doorman, the boy who was shot in the leg by an attacking Zero on Roebuck bay, as he clung to the wing stabiliser of Catalina Y 59. 80 years later I led the old man back to the very plane his mother had thrown him from, in the pit of the attack…
