Neil Sweeny Art displays work in the style of Super Hyper Realism, Abstract Expressionism and Abstract Surrealism. He spent most of his life as a Classical Musician/Music Teacher and took up painting in 2011.
Neil's artworks are created on a Dell Architects Touch Screen, which is turned into archival Giclee prints etched on Canson 310GSM 100% cotton canvas mounted on aluminium frames. Using the
digital realm, he has found that he can access hundreds of colours and hues that are far more vibrant in appearance than traditional oil or acrylic paints. Neil has studied Da Vinci's 'Fibonacci Sequence' method of painting in grids (rectangles). Using this method results in canvasses that "come to life", filled with a richness of colour that creates vibrant and stunning imagery that achieves a 3D perceptual depth.
Neil has spent the last 10 years perfecting his style ©Patchism and has won 16 International awards and certificates, with some of his paintings requested to be used as the banner pages for web art galleries. During his career, Neil has been guided by two renowned digital artists, Daniel Rivart of Belgium and Immo Jalass of the Netherlands. His works have gained a following in Europe and the US due to his unique style of using patches of colour to create a visual image. Neil is very pleased to be bringing his work to Australian art connoisseurs. Neil's painting styles are across three art forms: ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONISM - ABSTRACT SURREALISM - HYPER REALISM.
