🌈 🎸 Jess Parker Music is bringing their dark and seductive sapphic blues up from Victoria to the Silver City in September! Songs of desire, crime, heartbreak and queerness.

Joining Jess is fellow Victorian artist Claire Spooner, plus local support from Curtis Nye.

Our special guest backdrop artist for September will be brilliant Barkindji textile witch Krystle Evans.

This month’s gig feature artist was Tash Johnson - Leroy’s sister - who made these amazing banners with lyrics and translations of Leroy’s new set of songs in Barkindji.

A little look back at the making of Leroy Johnson & the Waterbag Band's “Rise Up”. We’ve just put a new edit up on YouTube, filmed while the band were recording at Castlemaine’s Sound Recordings.

We had such a beautiful time working with Alex there, getting the band in a room together and recording live to reel-to-reel tape, that we’ve decided to go back.
This time, we’re making a record.

Leroy has been writing a new collection of songs, including songs in Barkindji, and we’re heading back to Castlemaine to record them with the Waterbag Band.

We’re self-funding the recording, but we’ve started a GoFundMe to help us with everything that comes afterwards, mixing, mastering, artwork and getting the finished album into print.
