Films include The Sealed Soil (Khak-e Sar be Mohr), from Marva Nabili, a seething and sensual portrait of a teenager resisting the bonds of patriarchy, and Woman and Child
(Zan O Bache), a carefully crafted and endlessly gripping drama about a widowed mother, Reeling from a tragic event, who swears revenge on the men who've wronged her.
This year, MIFF will return to ACMI Cinemas, Kino, The Forum, Hoyts Melbourne Central, IMAX, The Capitol, Cinema Nova and The Astor.
The program includes free and low-cost activities together with ticketed events. Annually, MIFF attracts more than 160,000 attendees making it one of the top 5 film festival audiences in the world.
