JLX Productions Pty Ltd Technical solutions for the arts and events industries. At its core JLX is a solutions business. We are not a gear company, we are a people company.

We provide our clients with a unique skill set to navigate through the myriad of production environments to design, manage and deliver successful projects. Our team works collaboratively across all production disciplines and with a strong network of suppliers to support us we can ensure our clients are fully equipped to take on any challenge. We provide a full suite of pre-production services from

technical direction to administration, we build production systems for venues to run efficiently, we provide drafting and design services for event concepts to assist in their practical delivery, we manage and operate onsite across stage and site management, lighting, sound and vision. We work closely with industry partners to provide our clients with specifications to suit requirements both practically and financially. We focus on open and honest communication with all production partners, enabling our clients to interact at every level and gain greater value for their project.

This took a while to write. I have had some amazing people in my life but there are a few that stand out. The following isn't a eulogy. It's my way of celebrating someone who despite me giving them hundreds of reasons to tell me to go f**k myself and walk away has always been there.

JLX has been a pretty bizarre ride over the last 30 years, one thing that has remained a constant is the presence of Richard "Zak" Ian Christopher Harrison. From crazed sake fueled nights at Wagaya to overnight plotting sessions in darkened rooms he turned up, worked f**kin hard and cared about those around him. If he thought you were wrong he'd tell you but in the same action would lead you to the right answer. He stood his ground, backed himself and led by example. He mentored some amazing people that have gone on to amazing things. He never took a backward step when things got hard. You could always rely on him to be ready to go when the s**t hit the fan.

Well, except for once in Mackay where a battle over two Jim Beam and Cokes in a crappy motel bar fridge on the way back from a gig on an island almost kicked off a smack on in the car park but ended in a defiant exit into the night with a loud proclamation "THIS IS MY TOWN!" oh…. and the time in Port Douglas where due to a snoring issue there may have been an attempted murder by smothering using 6-8 couch cushions… but let's not get caught up in the who did what to who and why…

It's been a privilege to work with you all these years mate. Who you are and how you approach life is ingrained in the DNA of JLX. You have made us better.

As you move into a well-deserved slowdown from this thing we call work we all wish you the best. Enjoy the fishing, enjoy the random gigs when the fishing is s**t. Enjoy everything! You are due all the excellent the universe can provide brother! TIGHT LINES!

Righto.. Instead of me banging on forever about Zak and his associated magic and you lot randomly clicking the like button, how bout we get a thread on the go here with a few good stories about him. I know there are some tales to be told.. And of course Richard Harrison you will have the right of reply but remember the audience you are surrounded by, once you open Pandora's box you ain't closing it…

Big it up for this legend! .kennedy97 (Dewhirst) is moving on to new adventures in life! You are an amazing human Jas! From hanging out in a Spiegal tent with some loose lighting crew to helping us keep this bizarre circus called JLX heading in the right direction you have grabbed every challenge and made it your bitch! It won't be the same in the office listening to bangers! It won't be the same without your banter! Your defacto JLX family, as dysfunctional as we are, will miss you, but we are all super proud of you and the person you are!
