Come feel the grunge of it all...

This ZED51.... MUDHONEY incinerate the signifiers with their own breed of do**in' it.

"All these terms are just sort of ways of both signifying something and dismissing something, but f**k what the artist thinks of themselves," he adds with a laugh. "You can't control how other people perceive you, so to have a tantrum about the fact that someone calls us 'grunge' is ridiculous."

Mitch, Please bring their total energy ALL THE RAGE to ZED51... Bragg, Polly, Kayla, Matt & Steve serve up their highly touchable, crunchy, creamy, salty, dang good times at ZED51 - SAT 24 OCT. Shake that fizz and let the bottled-up blow! F**k, yes!

MITCH, PLEASE
Mitch, Please is a Brisbane-based nerd punk band sitting somewhere between pop punk and hardcore in the genre spectrum. Elements of fast-tempo melodic pop meet heavier metal riffs and vocals that range from thrash-heavy to Disney-whimsical, with many levels in between. Their latest EP Yes, Thanks draws humour from everyday quirks like puzzle addiction, over-consumption of fizzy drinks, and hoarding band shirts. Known for high-energy shows and witty, thoughtful lyrics, they've garnered a dedicated fan base in Australia's underground punk scene. Latest single All The Rage was recently Number 1 in the annual 4zzz Hot 100 countdown for 2025. With Kayla Philp on drums, Steve Reed and Matt Sim on guitar, Nick Bragg on bass and Polly Cooke on vocals/keys, Mitch, Please are a diverse cast of definitely humans making songs about cats and fizzy drinks and of course, mathematics.

Paul Cashmere interviews MARK ARM from MUDHONEY for NOISE11 amid deafening silences: https://www.noise11.com/vinterviews/mark-arm-mudhoney-interview-australia-2026

Mudhoney's only Brisbane show ZED51.

In this wide-ranging interview, Mark Arm discusses Mudhoney’s Australian connection through Melbourne-born bassist Guy Maddison, the band’s plans to rehearse in Melbourne before the tour, and why the final setlist has not yet been decided.

Arm also looks back at Plastic Eternity, including the challenge of reproducing “Flesh And The Fascists” live and the unexpected origins of “Little Dog”. He explains why politics has remained an important part of Mudhoney’s music and argues that more bands should be willing to address political issues.

The conversation goes deep into Mudhoney’s catalogue, including Superfuzz Bigmuff, Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge, Piece Of Cake, My Brother The Cow, Tomorrow Hit Today, Digital Garbage and Plastic Eternity. Arm explains the story behind the title Every Good Boy Deserves Fudge and why the album represented a deliberate return to the garage as some of Seattle’s musical peers were becoming more metallic.

Arm also reflects on “Touch Me I’m Sick”, the unexpected longevity of Mudhoney and the band’s remarkable continuity, the Seattle underground scene that connected Mudhoney with Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Tad and the Melvins, and his perspective on the explosion of grunge in the early 1990s.

He also reveals that Mudhoney’s next studio album is nowhere near completion because the band’s collaborative songwriting process depends on the musicians being together in one room.

THE MARK OF CAIN interview with THE AUSTRALIAN by Andrew McMillen.

The Mark Of Cain siblings and musicians Josie Scott (guitar/vocals) and Kim Scott (bass) pair speak with The Australian's national music writer, Andrew McMillen, about the long path to Josie’s coming out as transgender, her decades-long struggle with gender dysphoria, how that overlapped with the Adelaide band's 42-year history, and why she found it difficult to share news of her transition with fans of what is “often interpreted as a very masculine, testosterone-driven band,” as she wrote in Facebook post published on February 2, 2026.

TAPE/OFF perform at ZED51.

Some bands make easy, forgettable music. A rarer few demand commitment — music that refuses to fade into the background. Tape/Off firmly belong to the latter. Their 2025 album Fort Sensible found them at once more accessible and more acerbic than ever, oscillating between the stifling torpor of their sub-tropical home and the anger it breeds. The response from fans and critics was rapturous, their live shows drawing an ever-growing fanbase. Spanning full-on noise assaults to delicately intimate melodies, Fort Sensible redefined what modern Australian rock can be — the thinking person's response to the world we live in. It doesn't disappoint.
