To my dance family,
After 12 incredible years, it’s time for me to say goodbye to Greenbank Dance House.
This is a post I never imagined having to write, and it comes with a very full heart. What started as a dream all those years ago grew into something far more special than I ever could have imagined. This studio has never just been about dance—it has been a place where lifelong friendships were formed, confidence was built, memories were made, and where so many of us became like family.
Watching our students grow from tiny dancers into beautiful young people has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. I’ve celebrated your achievements, cheered you on through challenges, and shared so many wonderful moments with your families. Thank you to every student who has walked through our doors, every parent who trusted me, and every family who supported this little studio over the years. Your loyalty, kindness, and belief in me have meant more than you’ll ever know.
This year, my heart grew in a whole new way when I welcomed my beautiful baby girl Maggie into the world. Becoming a mum has given me a new perspective, and after many months of reflection and more tears than I can count, I’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to close the studio so I can embrace this new chapter.
It hasn’t been an easy decision because this studio has been such a huge part of who I am for the past 12 years. It has shaped my life just as much as I hope it has shaped the lives of those who danced here.
Although this chapter is coming to an end, I will always be grateful for everything we’ve shared together—the concerts, the costumes, the excitement, the laughter in class, the milestones we celebrated, and the friendships that will stay with me forever.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for trusting me with your children, for allowing me to share my love of dance with them, and for making this studio so much more than I ever dreamed it could be. I will carry these memories with me always, and I hope our little dance family will too.
With all my love and gratitude,
Miss Jess 🤍
