"The standout performance is that of the leading lady."

Maria is funny, frustrating, stubborn, generous and endlessly human.

Alexis Beebe's portrayal of Maria sat at the heart of our production, reminding us that history isn't found in books alone, it's carried by the people who lived it.

We're grateful to see her work recognised by reviewers and audiences alike.

Two reviews in one day.

The Revisionist remains an engaging evening of theatre that offers audiences both entertainment and plenty to contemplate afterwards. Eisenberg's script refuses simple answers, and this thoughtful Brisbane production honours that complexity while delivering a compelling and often moving theatrical experience.

Thank you to Kitty for coming along and spending the night with us.

This is why we do theatre, to create discussion, to inspire change. Amazing review from Catherine at Creative Futures Photography.

'My take out is that this is ultimately a play about the importance of not forgetting key moments in history, and the need to resolve current wars in a way that ensures future generations do not have to live through conflict, or subjugation. Which makes The Revisionist a timely production to include in the PIP Theatre 2026 program.'

I recommend the A Midnight Social production of Jesse Eisenberg’s The Revisionist as an opportunity to see three strong performances. Like me, you may come away feeling that you’d never like to meet someone like David, and that the playwright could perhaps have made some revisions to this play. ...

MEET OUR AMAZING CAST

Alexis Beebe as Maria

Alexis Beebe is a Brisbane-based actor whose work spans theatre, film, television and voice work. She trained in London and has performed across the UK and throughout Australia, working with a range of independent and established companies. Alexis’ recent theatre credits include Bombshells at PIP Theatre and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead at Metro Arts.

Alexis is drawn to theatre as a place of connection, where story and audience meet in a shared space of recognition. She is deeply committed to work that explores the often overlooked truths of the human experience. Her work is guided by a pursuit of authenticity, seeking moments that feel intimate and enduring, and that speak to and sometimes challenge the complexity, contradictions and fragility of what it is to be alive in the world.
