Let's go to The Rocky Mountains 🇨🇦 with 💙

A bit late on this one since I tried capturing it with oil pastels, but really couldn't get those colours right 🫣

So, back to ink pens, to complete what started as breakfast sketch ✍🏻
Would love to have this as my actual view 🪟

Happy year of the fire horse 🔥
It just sounds much cooler than happy New year 🎊

On Sunday I went sketching at the Chinese New Year Celebrations in Brisbane 🤩
I started sketching the gate with some comfort ink but then moved location and ended up with a pencils and ink sketch of a Chinese restaurant 🎨
I finished the gate back at home in watercolors, with some help 😺

I feel like I should add something in the middle of that gate... Any suggestions?

Thank you for the amazing photos 💖

I only had 30 minutes and couldn't decide which one to draw so I took the chance to participate in Day 1 of the organised by 🌞

Getting back to a routine feels so nice ✨ let's see how long it lasts 🤞🏻

Lets go to Egypt is a dream (where you can only paid 7€ for the front-row seat). 🇪🇬

Back to January 2025 standing on a terrace in Giza, staring at the only remaining Ancient Wonder of the World. The cost? 7€ a night 💸

But the view looked very different the day we were supposed to visit the pyramids...that morning, we woke up to nothing.
A fog so thick the pyramids had literally vanished. We had one day left.
Most people would’ve waited for the sun. We said "f**k it" and went anyway.

The Payoff:
Walking through Giza at 8 AM in total silence is eerie. No tour groups, no heat, just us and the usual sellers already trying to convince you to go on a camel ride.
Watching the fog slowly peel back to reveal the Great Pyramid is a core memory I’ll never be able to fully describe.

Swipe to the end to see the watercolor sketch I did of our 7€ balcony 🎨

Would you risk the fog for a chance to have the pyramids to yourself? Or would you have stayed in bed?

The light in these German forests is magical, but living there? That’s a different story. 🌲✨

For week 195 of the challenge, I was immediately drawn to this specific reference from .
I’ve been pushing myself to capture light more effectively, and that horizontal lens flare slicing through the vertical rhythm of the trees felt like the perfect "final boss" for my watercolors (I think I over did it a little bit) 🎨

I used a mix of watercolor and colored pencils to get that irregular bark texture and those soft, hazy glows.

Funnily enough, painting this Putzbrunn scene gave me major flashbacks to my time living in Freising. It was just a 60-minute train ride to Munich, but if you’re wondering if I’d recommend living there… the short answer is: I wouldn't. 😂

Beautiful to paint? Absolutely. A place I’d move back to? I’ll stick to the sketches.

Looking for the best Colosseum views?
Swipe to the end ⏩

This week’s challenge really got me hooked — reading through the different perspectives and breakdowns from the , I had to try them all 🏟️

This time I started with pencil studies to understand structure, get the perspective and the dimensions right, then moved to ink.

I have to admit that adding people at the start helps a lot with the scale of such a colossal building.

✨Rome Travel tip: I actually visited Rome for the first time in 2024, just before Christmas - perfect time to avoid internal tourism and you get the perfect weather for walking around Rome.

I've tried to draw the colosseum back then... but from a different place — the Baths of Trajan park 📍

This has to be my favourite view - partially because it is free but also because it wasn't crowded at all.

But, if you want the best view of the Colosseum , it has to be from a place most people skip, even though it’s one of the best archaeological parks I’ve ever seen - The imperial Forms📍

Thanks for the beautiful references 🥰
