🎶 New singers wanted for 2026 — real performances are waiting!
German Youth Choir Brisbane (Ages 9–18) is welcoming new voices.
Do you like singing? Would you like to try singing in German — even if you don’t speak German yet?
No German needed.
No music theory needed.
Just curiosity, a love of music and the courage to give it a go.
At GYC, singers can:
✅ make friends
✅ build confidence through real performances
✅ learn proper vocal technique and ensemble skills
✅ sing German songs — from traditional songs to modern pop
✅ perform at major community and school events
✨ Upcoming performance opportunities include:
• Laternenfest with Brisbane German Language Schools at The Gap State High School — Saturday, 1 August 2026
• Last year’s Laternenfest welcomed more than 1,600 people, including many families and children
• The traditional opening event of Brisbane German Week on 1 October 2026, with prominent guests
• Oktoberfest and Christmas Concert performances at the Brisbane German Club
Founded in 2019 by the Office of the Honorary German Consul - Brisbane, GYC brings together young people from German immersion schools, German programs, Saturday School and the wider Brisbane community — anyone who simply loves to sing.
Led by Beatrice Klepper, Artistic Director & Conductor, GYC is a friendly and supportive choir community based at the Brisbane German Club in Kangaroo Point.
📍 Rehearsals: usually fortnightly Sundays, 10:30am–12:00pm
