๐ŸŒ qums.org.au While maintaining strong links to the University and the Student Union, membership is open to the entire community. Our members come from a diverse array o

f backgrounds and disciplines (not to mention levels of musical experience), to make music in a fun, social, and supportive environment. QUMS holds several performances each year, and our repertoire ranges from major classical works to contemporary chart hits or musical theatre. We are also available for hire for weddings, funerals, corporate functions and especially Christmas caroling. As well as our music-making, we enjoy being a very social group, with post-rehearsal coffee, camps, dinners and other events all featuring on our social schedule. We aren't just a choir, but a large group of friends! QUMS is a proud member of the Australian Intervarsity Choral Societiesโ€™ Association (AICSA), which includes similar choirs from universities around the country, and regularly unites over 150 university choristers for ten days to two weeks of music and fun at the annual Intervarsity Choral Festivals. Visit www.aicsa.org.au for more information. QUMS rehearses on Wednesday nights (7.00-9.30pm) at the University of Queensland, St Lucia Campus. New members are always welcome - information about our various activities and how to join us is available on our website.

Meet our Qumposers - Part 2

Mia is a Brisbane-based composer currently studying a Bachelor of Music (Composition) at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. Having been in love with music from a young age, Mia was eager to continue her pursuit with tertiary education - ultimately planning to return her passion to her communities as a teacher. Her current music centres on humanity, storytelling, and creating evocative landscapes that audiences can draw their own meanings from.

Join us on the 30th of May of 2pm as we share stories and meanings through music-making.
