OLEANNA, described by TIME on its first performance as "Fiercely funny and trenchantly topical" has lost none of its power to shock and delight. Indeed, in a post "Me too" world the drama only seems more relevant. Of course there is Mamet's trademark dialogue to enjoy, but perhaps it is the characters in all their flawed, tragic, ambiguity that the greatest thrill is to be had. The film version used the tag line "whichever side you take, you're wrong" but in 2024 maybe the most important choice is whether to take a side at all.
