Honoured beyond words to be recognised as the recipient of the First Nations Arts & Culture Business Innovation Award 2026. ✨
Balya Productions was built from the ground up with a vision bigger than myself. Creating real pathways, representation and long-term opportunities for First Nations people within live music, touring and production.
As someone who works nationally in live production and touring spaces that rarely see First Nations women in leadership roles, this recognition means so much. Not just for me, but for every person watching and realising there is space for them in this industry too.
This award belongs to community, to the mentors and crew who backed me, to every artist and organisation who trusts Balya Productions, and to the people stepping into this industry through our mentorship and workforce pathways programs.
We can’t be what we can’t see.
Nearly two decades in the industry and still the only First Nations female nationally in this field of work. That reality is exactly why I will continue doing everything I can to make sure the next generation sees themselves in these spaces.
Massive congratulations to all recipients and finalists. To stand alongside such deadly leaders, creatives and changemakers was incredibly special.
And to my Mum. My Matriarch. Thank you for always standing beside me. ❤️
