This coming Saturday PULP in collaboration with .fest have some AMAZING talent coming to you at Studio 188 Ipswich/Tulmur

We introduce the first of our four musical acts of the evening...
☀️SIXTH OF THE SUN☀️

Sixth of the Sun are a 7-piece neo soul group based in Meanjin/Brisbane. Their band’s chief songwriter, Chelle Janse van Rensburg, amplifies tales of a commonly blazed path for q***r folk - a lifelong journey from shame to freedom. Drenched in soul, Chelle uses music and drag as catharsis. Their performances narrate themes of displacement, dissociation and chronic illness; the enduring effects of childhood immigration and a strict religious cultural background. Chelle’s reverent vocals are supported by six of Meanjin’s excellent and versatile musicians. Pianist Teabo Fargo, Alex Askew on bass, guitarist Daniel Booth and Tyler Shilling on percussion. They are all joined by the brilliant musings of Melanie G and Rosa Mack on backing vocals.

RIPE REVERB - POSTPONED
It is with a heavy heart that we have to make the decision to postpone Ripe Reverb for now and go ahead on a future date in 2025 with hopefully the same amazing lineup.

We have promoted, networked, stickered, gone on local radio 3 times and have shared as much as possible. Unfortunately it can't always guarantee ticket sales.

We are all about platforming q***r and trans music, but part of that is making sure that all of those artists/musicians/performers get paid on time and paid fairly. Without guaranteed ticket sales we wouldn't be able to pay everyone within a 2-3 week timeframe which is as long as we are comfortable with letting performers wait for payout.

There are probably producers out there that can leave it for a month or two for one reason or another but PULP does not want to do that. It isn't fair to our musicians as human beings with bills to pay and food to buy.

If you enjoy music and consume it daily do the best thing you can to support your local scene by showing up, buying merch and enjoying a musicians art in person...because we all know streaming revenue is a joke and content creation forced upon creatives who's livelihood depends on their art is a sad reality.

Anywho, keep an eye on this space for a new event early in 2025 and have a look at tickets for our Melt collaboration at Studio188 Ipswich/Tulmur which is DEFINITELY going ahead.
