I’m especially proud that we’ve had the opportunity to bring the sounds of our local and surrounding LGBTQIA2S+ music underground to amazing audiences in the last couple of years.

🤍🩷🩵🤎🖤 pinkNOISE STONEWALL - MEET THE ARTISTS - Jemzel ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

Jemzel is a Filipino/Australian independent artist and producer making music in a bedroom. She creates her music with the use of transparent songwriting based on personal experiences, thoughts and emotions that resonate with a wide audience. Her confessional writing about the human condition is fused with a plethora of sonic influences - from rock to folk to soul - to craft her unique sound.

Since her debut at 15-years-old in 2022, Jemzel has built a catalogue of 16 songs - all written, produced, mixed and mastered by her - and has independently amassed over 1,350,000 streams on Spotify alone. She’s continued to make waves with the release of her debut EP ‘starry eyed’ and single ‘Potent Kiss’.

With Jemzel’s dynamic, electrifying and memorable performances, she’s grown her presence in the local live music scene, supporting artists including Old Mervs, Ixaras, gordon’s grandson, Worm Girlz, and bella amor.

On this IDAHOBIT (International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia and Transphobia), I want to reflect on who our community is underneath the letters and colours - human beings.

NOT political footballs to be debated by suits

NOT accessories you can choose or discard at will

NOT scapegoats for the failings of the ruling class

What I see at every pinkNOISE event and within our wider community is an embracement of true humanity. Colour, diversity, warmth, curiosity and constant attempt at understanding. It’s truly beautiful and I only wish the people who constantly “other” us could see what I see.

I love my rainbow community 🤍🩷🩵🤎🖤❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

It’s so cool to see our little event listed among some well-established and well-loved names within the community. To achieve such recognition in less than two years makes me incredibly proud and I’m looking forward to many more opportunities to serve our rainbow community in the very near future.

pinkNOISE STONEWALL is the 8th event in the pinkNOISE series and is a celebration of how far we’ve come collectively thanks to the generations of courageous LGBTQIA2S+ folk who came before and still stand with us today. It’s an acknowledgement of the shoulders we currently stand upon, the heights we aim to achieve and the struggles we continue to face.

“Joy is an act of resistance”. No-one exemplifies this better than our colourful q***r community. Reclaiming joy, love and happiness is radical defiance against the continued injustices of an unkind world. Let’s show our defiance with an evening of music, dancing, laughter and love.

Featuring: Chiffon Magnifique + THE ZON + Jucaso and Jemzel

Presented in partnership with LGBTIQ+ friendly, owned and run venue The Cave Inn and proudly supported by the Revive Live Fund, pinkNOISE STONEWALL is FREE ENTRY.

The Cave Inn is a wheelchair and disabled friendly venue, with access to a handicapable toilet on the ground floor.
