"Travelling all over the countryside...."
Well, not with Mike and Mal ( the Leyland brothers)
I'm out west of Brisbane, in the scenic rim, out past Aratula with another group of spinners, weavers, felters, knitters, crocheters,lace makers and stitchers
Here's some of the results of the Boro Stitching workshop I facilitated and the beginning of a woven scarf by a new weaver. Another welcoming and inspiring group of crafty ladies.
My little shop in Redcliffe will be closed for the rest of the week as I'll be here for another day or so.
A little road trip is just the thing for inspiration. Next week I'm heading north, up past Gympie.
If you'd like to try your hand at Boro Stitching or knitting or perhaps some felting, let me know, I can come to you for group workshops.

What a welcoming friendly group of ladies the Highfields Spinners and Weavers ladies are. Their annual camp was held at Lake Perserverance and welcomed Spinners, knitters, crocheters, Weavers, felters from nearby and as far away as Armidale and Bundaberg for a few nights and days of crafting and catching up with each other.
There was a variety of workshops on offer and also the 20th Anniversary of the group s camp was celebrated.
Thank ewe ladies, I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with you all.

It's October already! Where has the year gone?
I've been busy behind the scenes sewing and knitting and preparing for the last two spinning camps this year. Yes, October is going to be busy.
This coming week, I'll be at Lake Perserverance on Wednesday 7th October, for the Highfields Spinners and Weavers camp.
My shop at Redcliffe will be closed until Friday 9th, when it reopens at 10am.
Opening hours:
Friday 9th and Saturday 10th : 10am-3pm
Sunday 11th: 10am - 2pm
( As I am a shop in a shop, my opening hours are fully dependent on when and if the main shop opens. )
Please call 0475 905 938 to check if you're planning on popping in for supplies.

Blink and it's over. What a whirlwind of a week. Three days at Twin Waters with these friendly roos to keep us entertained.
I facilitated two workshops on block printing tea towels with vintage and new wooden carved block stamps. The results were very impressive and all who participated enjoyed the process as well as the end result of a one of a kind tea towel.
I completed a pair of raffia earrings as well.

I'll be back to normal trading hours this week from 10am - 4pm Wednesday 30th September .
Thursday, Friday, Saturday 10am-4pm
Sunday 10am-3pm

Somebody's gotta do it, take a break that is, with a group of like minded crafty people. Recharge the batteries, dust off the cobwebs and chill.
Make sure you take some time out for yourself, some me time. It's good for the soul and you get heaps of crafting done as well. 😅
I'll be back next Wednesday 30th from 10am.

Found this little treasure in a little local op shop, of course I couldn't resist 😉

You can't beat an old Singer, sewing machine that is. 😂 Giving this old girl a go.
She's a 1951 vintage Singer handcrank straight stitch sewing machine. Playing with leather and indigo dyed fabric. Thinking of a small zippered pouch. We'll just keep going and see if it's a success or failure. It's all a learning process.
