16โ22 August 2026
This week we celebrate the beauty, strength and richness of **lea faka-Tonga**, and the traditions that continue to connect our children to their heritage and identity. ๐บ
๐ถ 2026 Theme:
โKo 'etau hiva, ko e fe'unu mahu'inga ia ki he mo'ui 'a e Tonga.โ
โOur music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture.โ
Our hiva is more than music. Through song, hymn, dance and storytelling, we pass down our language, history, faith, values and stories from one generation to the next.
For our children, every Tongan word they learn and every Tongan song they sing strengthens their connection to their fฤmili, fonua and tukufakaholo. โค๏ธ๐น๐ด
As we celebrate Tonga Language Week, may we encourage our children to lea faka-Tonga, hiva faka-Tonga, ako โetau tukufakaholo, pea mo tauhi hotau lea โ speak our language, sing our songs, learn our culture and treasure the beautiful language entrusted to us.
Ko hotau lea, ko hotau tukufakaholo, ko hotau mahuโinga. ๐น๐ด๐บ
