🇹🇴 **Uike Kātoanga’i ‘o e Lea Faka-Tonga – Tonga Language Week 2026** 🇹🇴
📅 16–22 August 2026

This week we celebrate the beauty, strength and richness of **lea faka-Tonga**, and the traditions that continue to connect our children to their heritage and identity. 🌺

🎶 2026 Theme:
“Ko 'etau hiva, ko e fe'unu mahu'inga ia ki he mo'ui 'a e Tonga.”
“Our music is a vital strand of our Tongan culture.”

Our hiva is more than music. Through song, hymn, dance and storytelling, we pass down our language, history, faith, values and stories from one generation to the next.

For our children, every Tongan word they learn and every Tongan song they sing strengthens their connection to their fāmili, fonua and tukufakaholo. ❤️🇹🇴

As we celebrate Tonga Language Week, may we encourage our children to lea faka-Tonga, hiva faka-Tonga, ako ‘etau tukufakaholo, pea mo tauhi hotau lea — speak our language, sing our songs, learn our culture and treasure the beautiful language entrusted to us.

📢 DAYTIME PRIVATE CONSULTATIONS – MINISTER FOR LANDS & TONGA HIGH COMMISSION

Members of the Tongan community are invited to book a private daytime consultation with the Hon. Taniela Fusimālohi, Minister for Lands, Survey, Planning and Natural Resources, and his staff for land-related matters.

Representatives from the Tonga High Commission will also be available to assist with consular services during these appointments.
