We are deeply troubled by the kidnapping of our friend Sam Woripi Watson by Israel in international waters - pictured left at our last exhibition alongside artist and fellow Brisbane Blaks and .

Sam, a Wangerriburrah and Birri Gubba Blakfulla, is a beloved part of our community; a staunch Brisbane Blak, human rights defender, and advocate for justice.

Sam has been detained alongside 10 other humanitarian volunteers while attempting to deliver urgently needed aid to Palestine. We are deeply concerned for their safety and call for their immediate release.

SHOW YOUR SUPPORT
Join tomorrow’s snap rally (May 20) | Central Station, Brisbane | 4:30PM

If you can’t attend in person, you can still take action:

• Contact Penny Wong and Anthony Albanese to demand that the Australian Government: Secure the safe release of all Australian humanitarian volunteers detained by Israel

•Publicly condemn the detention of Australian citizens in international waters

• End Australian military and political support for Israel

We are still very humbled by the support and love from our community over the weekend / thank you for joining our journey.

Tomorrow is Invasion Day and we invite you to question what solidarity with Indigenous/First Nations people might look like for you?

Featured artwork E LALO-A-TAO from the reclaim exhibition by speaks about solidarity.

‘E LALO-A-TAO is the Motuan word for “remember”

We are told that progress is about forgetting the past, moving forward and individual achievement. E LALO-A-TAO questions this dominant narrative and reflects on the necessary movement and understanding between past, present and future.

E LALO-A-TAO reflects on the role of migrant-settlers to remember who they are, where they’ve come from, whose land they are on, and to whom they owe solidarity to. We can ‘go forward’ with amnesia and erasure or we can go towards the direction of dignity and justice. We make choices about where we stand, who we stand with and what we stand for. ‘

🎨 Throwback of a Bindimu x Tanya Sinha collaborative ceremonial artwork created using rice, raang powder, betel leaves, candles and ochre.

Tanya + Bindimu share 'the ephemeral nature of the rangoli / kōlam / olpona reminds us to not be attached to materiality...but rather to appreciate the impermanence of life. Learning that everything must eventually end and return to the infinite. The ochre ceremony is a tradition on Minyangbal country used during a closing of gatherings and ceremonies.'

We hope you can join us for our last Ctrl+Alt+Del on January 21, 2023 +++

The AMPLIFY earring range just launched through our new online makete (shop) - Link below!

Support 350 Pacific QLD x grassroots climate action by buying a pair of earrings. Amplify was designed by 350 Pacific QLD in collaboration with Samoan artist and Conscious Mic

Each set of earrings tells a story of resistance and the need for urgent climate action.

Sophia wears the Belama set.

In Solomon Islands, 'belama' translates to frigate bird in the Roviana language. A skillful navigator possessing apotropaic qualities, the belama (frigate bird) brings good fortune to fishermen as it hovers over schools of fish and warns of impending storms. Like the belama, we must heed Mother Nature's warning signs.
