How might art help us think differently about the environmental challenges of our time?

Join us forā€Æa timelyā€Æand thought-provoking conversation with the Honourable Justice Brian Preston AO FRSN SC, Chief Judge of the Land and Environment Court of New South Wales and Dr Ayesha Tulloch, a conservation decision scientist at QUT.

This discussion will draw on Justice Prestonā€™s chapter in the recent publication Re-imagining Environmental Law, arguing for holistic, inclusiveā€Æand creative approaches to environmental law in response to urgent global challenges, as well as Dr Tullochā€™s research focusing on practical, evidence-based approaches to biodiversity recovery in human-modified landscapes. Facilitated by Vanessa Van Ooyen, Director of QUT Galleries and Museums, this conversation will explore how artistsā€™ insightsā€”shaped by perception, emotion, ethics, and attentiveness to placeā€”can help us think differently about the biodiversity crisis we face today.

post datum is a student-led art collective based at QUT, run by artists for artists. we organise exhibitions, workshops, and projects that create space for emerging creatives to experiment, collaborate and exhibit.
