It's taken me a while but I have (at last) added an upcoming online events page. These are the confirmed workshops and there are quite a few in 'negotiation'. In some instances you might have to have guild membership but other than that, it doesn't matter where you are in the world, you could take part if there's a place for you.

Some of you may recall that in 2018 the Allthreads community was invited and took part in the creating of an embroidery panel that is now one of the 87 panels in The Red Dress - a project conceived by British artist Kirstie Macleod, and which unites embroiderers from 51 countries.

Plans are afoot to bring The Red Dress to Australia in 2026 for exclusive display at the Museum of Brisbane and the Warwick Art Gallery and for Kirstie to host some public events. A Go Fund Me page has been set up to raise the funds to make this happen.

It is exciting to think that the embroidery community in Australia may soon have the opportunity to see the Red Dress on display!

From little things big things grow! This was the case with our contribution to The Red Dress and hopefully will be for donations to ensure it comes to Australia! Every little bit of your generosity will help!

As many of you will know I am in the US attending the Nashville Needlework Market. All orders placed up until the close of business on Saturday 1st March have been posted. My staff and my daughter were going to pack and post orders placed after that, mid way through this week and on Saturday, in my absence.

In view of the impending cyclone, they have been otherwise occupied assisting family members and friends prepare their homes for the strong winds and flooding the cyclone may bring, and orders have therefore not been posted as planned. The post office closed on Wednesday afternoon and will remain closed until it is safe to reopen.

If you placed your order anytime after 1.00pm on Saturday 1st March, you will be affected by this delay and for this I apologise. Subject to the weather, I will be back in the shop on Wednesday with my staff, and we will do what we can to get your orders out to you just as quickly as possible.
