Do you miss the glory days? The days when 1 play was only 20c and your TV at home also doubled as a functional piece of furniture. Back when playing games meant leaving the house, rolling down to the arcade to play the new game you'd never even seen before, all while meeting new friends (and maybe rivals) there to enjoy all the same stuff you do! 🕹🔥
Well the good news is it still exists, and its exactly the vibe we bring to Friday Social Games. It's a lowkey, relaxed way to meet new people while soaking up all that analogue goodness!
Open to people of all ages so even if you're part of the newer generation but feel like you were born a few decades too late, or if you predate most of the machines 😅 you're welcome here!

Hard to believe it's been NINE YEARS since 1UP Arcade opened!

Can anyone remember our original location in the basement 'bunker' level at Morningside! We opened with 58 games on the floor - the biggest in the country at the time - and continued to grow adding a new game every week for the first 2 years!

It's been a hell of a ride, with highs and lows, but it's always meant a lot seeing people connect (and re-connect) with these games from a time gone by.

We'll be open from 10am to 10pm today, with a fun 2-Player Arcade Comp around midday, so pop in for a few games, and to enjoy this special place we're lucky to have right here in Brisbane!

A new month and a great selection of old, and new, arcade games have joined the 1UP Arcade Australia lineup!

First up is the homebrew/indie game for the Neo Geo, XENOCRISIS! A great action arena game in the spirit of Twin-Stick arcade classics like Smash TV and Robotron.

Super rare to find out in the wild and expensive to buy for home, this is the perfect chance to play this AAA later release game for the Neo Geo! ❤️

Our ConsoleCade games for April are celebrating the completely different versions of CONTRA on the SNES and Mega Drive. Contra III: The Aliens Wars and Contra: Hard Corps (Probotector in PAL regions) are two undisputedly incredible action Run and Gun games. Sure, they are far from 'walk-over' easy, but a worthwhile challenge and must play games on your next visit!

Lots of new (classic) arcade games added to 1UP for April, with Super Pang, Air Buster and Mario Kart GP 3...

However, after our Beta testing party around a month ago, we're happy to announce that the game created by 1UP Arcade's owner, Stephen Holmes, is finished and out now for public play in our gorgeous Sega New Net City arcade cabinet.

Make sure to drop by, have a few games, and see if YOU can finish the intense 3-Minute Run! 😅
