People assume the hard part of a branding shoot is the strategy — knowing which images you need and why. It's often the bit that makes them stall before booking. The part that surprises them: it's the simplest piece, because it was never their problem to solve.
A short conversation and my well-designed questionnaire do most of the planning work. Who is your ideal client? Where are you going to use your images? What marketing or events to you have planned for the next few months? All of these questions inform the planning of your branding shoot and for me, it's one of the fun parts.
It means I get to put my expertise and training from my advertising photography degree to work. The needs of websites, magazine pages and social media are all so different, and that is before we get to thinking about adding words to your images!
But, answer those simple questions in plain language and a clear shot list falls out the other side — website images doing one job, social images doing another, a few that carry the brand when words can't.
You don't need to turn up with a content plan, I’ll help you build one based on where and how you plan to make your images work.
