Today is the March equinox aka the first day of autumn.

Brisbane doesn’t announce it loudly. There is no dramatic leaf fall or sudden chill – I wish! Instead, we there is a subtle shift in the light and cooler evenings.
I’ve always thought autumn feels less about starting over and more about a reset.

Letting go of what no longer fits, but keeping what works. It’s a time to settle into what feels true.

Many of the women I photograph arrive at this exact moment in their business. Not at the beginning, and not at the finish line either. Somewhere wiser. Clearer. Ready to show up in a way that feels more aligned than performative.

Your brand doesn’t need a reinvention every year.

Sometimes it just needs a thoughtful refresh.

Images that match who you are now, not who you were three versions ago.
If your visibility has felt a little out of step lately, consider this your seasonal reminder: small adjustments can create powerful momentum.

What are you refining this autumn?

Happy International Women’s Day!

Last year, I didn’t attend any International Women’s Day events. If I’m honest, I told myself I didn’t need to. That I didn’t need to show up and be “ra-ra feminist” in order to make a difference for the women around me.

Then, in June, I went to a Ladies Who Long Lunch event that was originally planned for IWD and something shifted.

It wasn’t about the bubbles.
(It rarely is.)
It wasn’t about the sweets.
It was about the room.

The kind of room where women lift each other. Where we celebrate loudly and cry quietly when the moment calls for it. Where we don’t need to explain the juggle, the ambition, the exhaustion, or the drive.

In one of these photos is Carol — a fellow photographer. Technically she is a competitor, but Carol is a friend first.

Because that’s what women do. We build together. I’ve seen it in community groups, breastfeeding support circles, school tuckshops and most recently I’ve noticed it in business communities.

When women gather with shared purpose, extraordinary things happen.
International Women’s Day isn’t about noise; it’s about remembering what women before us fought for … and choosing to keep showing up.

This year, I was in that room.

It happened to be a day at the races, Girls Day Out, but it was so much more!

A huge thank you to Jo Stevens and Kirsty Fields, the force behind for a brilliant day out. It was wonderful to hear the stories of Cei Heck from The Redcliffe Treehouse and Mary-Ann Strelow from Fleet Crew and meet so many incredible women.

Happy 33 Flavours Day!

An entirely unofficial holiday celebrated on March 3… aka a perfectly valid reason to eat ice cream.

Spotted: Ruby — one of Brisbane’s most iconic little visual moments — serving up joy to the next generation.

There’s something about an ice cream truck that stops us in our tracks.
The music.
The anticipation.
The careful decision-making over flavours.
(Which, let’s be honest, feels oddly similar to choosing brand colours or website images.)

So tell me…
What’s your go-to flavour combination?

Classic vanilla?
Mint choc chip loyalist?
Wild mix-and-match energy?

Drop it in the comments 🍦🍨

I’ve finally started something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time.

A newsletter.

Not a loud marketing one, no daily updates and definitely no inbox clutter. Just a thoughtful note every couple of weeks from behind the camera.

I’ll be sharing small observations about visibility, confidence, and what I see working for women in business who are trying to show up online without losing themselves in the process.

Some emails will be practical.
Some reflective.
Some a little funny—I’m starting with ice cream!

If you’ve ever wondered:
• how to feel more comfortable being visible
• how other women navigate showing up professionally and why good images make business feel easier
• or simply what the latest show at GOMA is really like

…you’ll probably enjoy it.

No freebie attached. Just ideas, stories, and useful insights.

If that sounds like your kind of email, you can join via the link in my bio. I’d love to have you there.

I’ve spent a lifetime working alongside women. Guiding, mentoring, and making space where it was once made for me.

Now, I use photography to do the same.

Strong branding photography doesn’t change who you are.

It removes friction.
It builds trust.
And it opens doors.

My role is to make sure your imagery is doing that work quietly, consistently, and well — for long after the shoot is over.

Happy Monday!

You might be wondering if a personal branding photoshoot is for you?

Branding photography is for women who.. care deeply about what they do.. want to be seen clearly, not loudly.. are ready for imagery that supports where they’re heading

If you’re building credibility, stepping into visibility, or refining your presence, this branding photography is designed for you.

So the answer is yes! A photoshoot is totally meant for you.

My process is designed to remove decision fatigue.

Before we shoot, we talk through:
– where the images will be used
– what matters most right now
– how you want your work to feel, not just look

On the day, everything is guided.

Afterwards, you receive a considered image library — including social-ready crops — so you can use your images without second-guessing.

No scrambling.
No guessing.

Most of my clients start with the same sentence:
“I’m not comfortable in front of the camera.”

That’s expected.
And it’s built into how I work.

My shoots are calm, guided, and unhurried.
You’re not expected to perform, pose or know what to do.

That part is mine. I’ve got you ❤️

Branding photography may seem like a bit of a mystery for some. What I do is simple to describe but carefully considered in practice.

I create strategic branding photography for women in business, the arts, and creative industries — imagery designed to support credibility, visibility, and opportunity.

This includes:
– personal branding sessions
– artist portraits and practice documentation
– art exhibition and business event imagery
– image libraries created for real-world use

The focus isn’t volume.
It’s relevance.

Hello! If we haven’t met yet, I’m Robyn!

I’m a Brisbane photographer working with women in business, particularly within the arts and creative fields — many of whom care deeply about what they do, but don’t always love being visible.

My work grew from years spent in studying photography at uni, delving into art history, and creative spaces where the work mattered more than the noise around it. Along the way, I learned how much imagery shapes opportunity — not just online, but in grant applications, exhibitions, publications, and professional conversations.

Today, I create branding photography that feels calm, intentional, and quietly effective.

If you’re new here, welcome.
If you’ve been around for a while, thank you for being part of this evolving body of work. ❤️
