Island Vibe 2nd line up Announcement

Introducing Skarramucci, a Jamaican born artist who is now one of Europe’s most talented and prolific reggae stars who has a career spanning 20 years. 6 Albums and countless Dancehall bangers. Skarra is well known for exceptional collaborations with french reggae lords L’Entourloop. His Style explores Soul, Reggae – Dancehall, Rap and R&B - his talent is incomparable and his endless lyrical flow and creativity make his style unique and they gave him the title of the Dancehall President.

Emily Wurramara - A Warnindhilyagwa woman from Groote Eylandt, Emily Wurramara has spent most of her life growing up between Meanjin (Brisbane) and the Northern Territory. Writing and singing in both English and Anindilyakwa language, Wurramara’s music has added to a recent wave of contemporary Australian blues and roots music that has seamlessly brought the language of her people to new communities in a way that empowers and celebrates her culture.
Her music, honest and inspiring, has led Wurramara to establish a body of work that includes the acclaimed debut studio album, Milyakburra (2018) – a record that earned the performer an ARIA Award nomination, an AIR Award win; six Queensland Music Awards and over 16 million streams on spotify.

JStar - Jstar has been lauded for his back catalogue of over 100 dancefloor gold, official and unofficial, reggae and hip-hop remixes for the likes of Blackstreet, Gang Starr, Busta Rhymes, Major Lazer, Madness, DJ Vadim, Tack>Head, Mark Ronson, The Black Seeds and others.
“Jstar is an original don… Early dj that helped inspire the Major Lazer crew! Bad man!” DIPLO
Growing up in West London surrounded by reggae, rave, funk and hiphop, Jstar soon started DJing. This led writing and producing music that has been widely acclaimed by the likes of Mixmag, David Rodigan, Norman Jay, John Peel, Grandmaster Flash and The Clash’s DJ, Don Letts.
Jstar’s productions are constantly pushing boundaries, illustrated in albums such as ‘Licensed Plates’, ‘Stand To Order’ and ‘Dub To Order.

Mista Savona - An Island Vibe regular - Mista Savona has garnered an international reputation through his ground breaking albums Melbourne meets Kingston, Kingston meets Havana part 1 and 2, Savona & Gaudi in Dub, Live at the Albert Hall and others. Expect an uplifting set of world music, Latin and Jamaican infused dancefloor incendiaries.

Joining these magnificent acts are Byron Bay Fm’s veteran funk/soul presenter Sunny Side Up, Border Ranges low frequency bombshell Bass Fairy, the multi-arts genius behind Byron’s Barefoot Beats - Monsieur Diop, and the ever funky Moe Aloha.

They join the line up so far…
Besides the BeeGees, Redcliffe is also famous as the birthplace of Australian reggae stars Kingfisha, who will be back on the scene with a national tour and an 8 piece band! Joining them are Melbourne's Amaru Tribe, featuring Oscar Jimenez (Watussi). The project is a playground to explore the intersection between cultures, traditional music from Latin America and new contemporary sounds; vibrating charangos, urban flow, electronic & afro-latin beats, and powerful vocal harmonies create a portal that gives birth to an unknown genre they called “Cumbia Oceanica”.
Playing Island Vibe for the first time are Kuranda's roots rock reggae crew The Pad Boys, who will be showcasing their Djabugay heritage with language and dance. Minjerribah MC extraordinaire Sachem will be representing the home turf, playing alongside Byron's 2BïRD featuring WREN and Tashmeen, Brazil's Aripua, Brisbane's District Dub City, Hip Hop and Soul producer Staynice & Tahu Dubs, Brazilian percussion crew Batukanum and West End's incredible Drum n Bass duo the SugarFunk Fairies.
