Today I went down to Comicstreet 2026 to check out the cool creations by local and interstate artists. It was my first time going and I had a great time. I intended to take photos of lots of the stalls but ended up getting sidetracked chatting or looking at art and so only ended with a few pics (plus some sneaky ones I took on my way back to the car).

The show is on tomorrow, Sunday, as well at The Edge at the State Library of Queensland, if you can make it in I highly recommend you go check it out!

Changed the aspect ratio for this one, made it 16:9 as I set up my Apple TV box to have my paintings as the screen saver and have been enjoying seeing them on there so this one fits the TV perfectly. It will make for a difficult print as getting it framed will require a custom frame or maybe even printing on stretched canvas.

I’m still feeling massively stressed and overwhelmed. I have 2 interstate trips plus 4 events in the next 9 weeks and money is especially tight. Trying to just keep getting through each day and doing my best to not be too hard on myself but failing often and end up really upset at me and how I feel.

I’m really happy to share that Eris Alar and Delta Phase Games are both being stocked by Belladonna Creative in Redcliffe!

The store is opening this Saturday, August 15 and is located in Comino’s Arcade, shop 4!

Sharon (the owner) is lovely and has an eclectic assortment of wares from local makers and creators. If you are around the Redcliffe area after the store opens I highly recommend you pop in!

My shelves are almost ready, I just to make some signs and then they are good to go for now, but as I have the time and money I’ll be trying to improve the set up.

I’m back to exploring black and white only painting. In some ways I prefer it to colour as colour can be quite complex to work with, whereas here I only need to worry about form and shade. This one went through a number of significant revisions, including flipping the painting and recomposing key elements. It’s one thing I love about working digitally, I have the luxury to experiment in ways extremely difficult with real paints. I’m aiming to have prints of this available at the upcoming Brisbane Illustration Fair in October.

Back to colour for today’s painting. I’m stressing a lot right now about money and finances, and so have spent most of the day working on this painting. I have no idea how folks can put on hold their feelings and just focus on work, I find it so hard to do.
