We are excited to offer a 4-week studio intensive - Studio Recording 101.

Participants will be given practical and theoretical skills to tackle their own recording projects, with the confidence to get good results whether they’re working at Abbey Road or a bedroom studio.

This course is designed for beginners and will cover a range of recording topics and techniques during the four classes.

Absolute dream to have Myles Smith swing by the studio for some vocal tracking. He's a really nice + extremely hardworking guy, and it's not hard to comprehend the trajectory he's on right now. Excited to hear some of his new tunes take shape. Sadly DK wore his "is this thing on" face for the polaroid... the things we endure for analogue.

Studio Residency Available!

We are currently offering a 3-month studio residency. Perfect for a freelance producer, engineer or musician.

The successful applicant will have access to our beautiful control room and all its gear for 10hrs a week.

Some gear highlights:

ATC SCM25 Studio Monitors
UAD Apollo system with a huge array of plugins
Multiple flavours of outboard compression - FET, Optical, VCA
Roland Juno 106
Modded Fender Princeton Reverb and Vox AC30
Extensive mic locker featuring some of world’s best ribbons and condensers

In addition you will also have the ability to book the 80sqm live room that adjoins our control room. Great for full band tracking or huge drum sounds.

The residency is $600 monthly, with the option to sign on for an additional 3 months.

Your studio time can be taken as 1 full day booking a week, or 2 half day bookings.

Last week our good friends released their second album, Años Migraños on the world.

The crew spent a few days here at the studio tracking guitars and bass with and we couldn’t be happier with how the tracks turned out!

On this day in 1991, the first version of what we think of as ProTools was released. Pro Tools was first developed by Digidesign (now part of Avid Technology) in the late 1980s, and quickly became one of the most widely used DAWs in the music industry. Its adoption fundamentally altered the way music is recorded, edited, and produced.

Early Pro Tools users marvelled at the non-destructive editing, and it's something that's taken for granted today, with a single instrumental track often containing hundreds of hidden edits.

Despite the obvious advantages of digital stereo and multitrack recording / editing, it wasn't until the release of Ricky Martin's 1999 hit Livin La Vida Loca that we heard the first commercial using ProTools exclusively.

Every now and then something so crazy happens at the studio that we’re lucky to have a polaroid lying around. We were beyond stoked to host a recording session with RZA, Capadonna and Masta Killa of
Wu-Tang Clan a few days ago. It was an honour to watch them rhyme, rap, and share a poké bowl with them. They are consummate pros with v high standards and we learned a lot.

Ft. yr boi Sam Hogg on the tools. Ask us to tell you the cake story next time we see you.

Steele is one of the busiest session musicians around but we managed to borrow him for a couple of sessions. If you have ears and live within the greater Brisbane area you have undoubtedly experienced him play with big hitters like Emma Louise, James Johnston Katie Noonan, Butterfingers, Resin Dogs, MKO sun and many many more. You know they're a keeper when the blinding polaroid flash doesn't derail the take.

It has a non-latching push-to-talk switch, saving yourself the frustration of hearing your hot-shot producer farting over the latched talkback 75% of the way through the best take you’ve attempted in hours. Warning: you will never cut hi-fi vocals using it. Submissions now open for creative ways to keep the mic active for a vocal take without using gaffer tape.
