Adopt-a-Rock from Weekly Park Stanmore!

Tomorrow morning (Fri 16 Jan) I’m going to hide 20 hand-painted rocks in the park 🌳 💜

Kids can find rocks and choose a favourite to take home! (please leave some for others ☺️)

Today I had the pleasure of gifting an original painting, art prints and greeting cards to The Salvation Army, who own and operate Stanmore House, on Cambridge Street ❤️

The Salvos are currently hard at work on their annual Christmas appeal (many ways that community members can get involved - I’ll post a link below 😊)

As one of the oldest buildings in Stanmore, ‘The Lodge’ has a fascinating history. The house was purchased by the Salvation Army in 1900 and used as a rescue home for pregnant women, mainly single mothers, who needed accommodation. It was later used as a children’s home and young womens hostel until 1988. It is now the Salvation Army School for Leadership Training and hosts community events.
