I love a sneaky hand painted secret Santa present! My reproduction of Ali Kay Studios bauble painting has inspired me to jump back into painting. Loving her use of bold colours, mark making and the use of light. Are Christmas paintings tacky? Or cute? I love this modern take 🌲🌟

WHAT A JOURNEY THIS ONE HAS BEEN. This painting is deep in the colour rub and stencil era. I even tried my own hand at drawing and cutting my own bird of paradise stencil here using a laser cutter. Plus a number of stencils from AliExpress.

It's been some time but I've finally gone and taken some photos with the finished box. Just in time for .pride on Saturday.

The box 'Rainbow Celebrations' honours some of the fabulous identities that make up our rich and vibrant culture. The identities are purposely gender fluid and colours of the many LGBTIQA+ pride flags are represented in the figures and ribbon throughout. A celebration of us all and the joy and value we add to Brisbane communities.
