What a joy it was to have Marilyn Richardson AO join us in supporting our emerging artists through a recent masterclass!

Our singers were able to hear insights and take valuable lessons from Marilyn's expertise - even the audience got in on it and learnt about activating their diaphragm (pic 3).

Meet the artists taking part in our masterclass this Sunday 🎶

The singers you will hear from this weekend are featuring in our upcoming performance 'Verdi's Divas'; you will get a sneak of of works from that show or other favourites from our cast.

We are grateful the masterclass will be conducted by Marilyn Richardson AO who's expertise will bring insights for both the singers and audience!

In collaboration with 4MBS Classic FM we celebrate the women who define Verdi’s operatic world with passion, resilience, and vocal brilliance. Featuring musicians from Brisbane Philharmonic Orchestra and Vocal Manoeuvres Academy.

👣 THE DESCENT OF ORPHEUS | 7pm, 10 & 11 July
His lover lost and a journey into darkness. Orpheus risks everything for Eurydice in the Queensland premiere of "The Descent of Orpheus" by Charpentier.

We are joining the National Parks Association of Queensland Park of the Month program in March to present 'Barefoot Opera in the Bush' 🌳

In the beautiful surrounds of Samford Conservation Park you will be guided by conductor and Springboard Opera singer in performing some opera.

Spend a day in the park with a full day of activities available, and bring your best operatic voice to our session!

Oh really? Nobody told us that Timothee...

Well actually we think all opera singers and arts workers have been told a version of this at some point about it being a dying art form.

We are seeing new emerging artists, opera companies and productions showing up every day, as well as audiences who care about, and love the art form.

In fact, we had over 1000 people in Brisbane City Hall last month to watch an opera written within the last 100 years, presented by an opera company which started 2 years ago. That seems like opera is very alive to us.
