Deafening Silence is a photograph about the moment after a life-changing decision. The room goes quiet, but your mind keeps going.

I’m building the scene physically: a spacious room, a scenic window, and one exhausted figure sitting with everything that has just happened. The image won’t tell you whether the decision was right or wrong.

The Australian Cultural Fund campaign is live, with a $3,600 target to help build the set and complete the final framed work. Follow the link and donate today to support. Sharing this post helps too.

A massive thank you to everyone who has donated so far. It goes such a long way.

There's something really satisfying about holding a photograph for the first time.

For months I've stared at these images on a monitor, zooming in to fix tiny details, adjusting colours and making countless small decisions.
Then suddenly it's no longer just pixels on a screen. It's something real.

A screen can show an image, but it can't replicate the depth, texture or presence of a print. You slow down. You notice things you'd normally scroll past. It becomes less about consuming an image and more about spending time with it.

These are only test prints, but seeing them in my hands has reminded me why I love creating physical work. The photographs haven't reached their final form yet. They still need to be printed at full size, carefully framed and finished as they were always intended.

Some photographs simply aren't meant to live on a phone screen. They're meant to exist in a space, to be lived with, and to reveal themselves over time.

A lone figure walks away from a broken-down car as smoke drifts quietly into the fading light. Hidden within the vehicle, a face remains, almost unnoticed, transforming an ordinary roadside scene into something quietly unsettling. After Leaving explores the moment when departure is not an ending but a haunting presence, asking whether we ever truly leave the people, places or memories we abandon behind.

Taken in July 2018 for a university assignment, this photograph has always reminded me that the best images rarely come from perfect plans. After hours of preparation and testing, almost everything went wrong on the night. The lights failed to fire for this frame, the smoke machine died shortly afterwards, and the shoot ended far differently than I'd imagined. Looking back, those unexpected failures created one of my favourite photographs to date.

Photographs often preserve moments that never truly existed. Occasionally, reality catches up. Only weeks after this image was created, the car caught fire and was destroyed, leaving the photograph with an eerie sense of inevitability.

Available as a limited edition of 50. Secure your copy through my website. Now available in a new floating gallery presentation.

A veiled figure crowned in gold stands between revelation and concealment. Identity is obscured, inviting the viewer to look beyond the individual toward the symbols they carry. The ornate crown evokes divinity, grace and transcendence, while the veil suggests the unknowable nature of faith, memory and meaning. Rather than depicting a specific person or religious figure, the work explores the human desire to seek guidance, hope and something greater than ourselves.

Here's a shot from last week's shoot with Talon Cos. It's good to be working through the edits. This shot is one of my favourites so far. The craftsmanship and attention to detail in this Red Hood cosplay made my job easy. Keen to share more from this set soon.

I had the opportunity to work with (look her up on Instagram) yesterday. She's absolutely incredible to shoot with and her costume work is in a league of its own! Can't wait to collaborate again.

As an artist I'm so happy with how this photo turned out. As a father I'm over the moon to be able to share a passion of mine with my daughter. Seeing her get into it and have so much fun just filled my heart.... I'm so glad she loves the weird in life.

She looked at what lay inside, hopeful but not fully understanding.

I'm quite enjoying looking at the before and after photos of my editing. This Deku cosplay was back in 2018.

I'm not enjoying 2018 being 8 years ago though.
