A beautiful pair of footy boots done for a deadly jarjum down on Nukunu country (Port Pirie SA) - this artwork was inspired by bala boys coming from all over the state/country, to play and represent in an upcoming footy tournament, showing their bond through sport and brotherly connection. Incorporating little fullas totem tracks — the kangaroo.

Exploring where my artistic creativity takes me!

I had the amazing opportunity to design and paint a footy boot as an exchange gift from my former high school to as the girls touch football team versed in the Reconciliation Round today, in honour of Reconciliation week 2025.

I incorporated both schools and where they’re situated on the Meanjin river in their school colours, and adding meeting places representing the connections the girls make through this sport, and their journey through school.

Huge thank you to State High teacher Stuart Sprott for introducing me to this wonderful opportunity, in trusting me with this, and to my former Cert. Fitness teacher, Mr Owen Flynn for recommending and always supporting me. 💙❤️💙

Significant dates approaching for First Nations people are 🤎

It’s important to acknowledge Australia’s history, and how far we’ve come as people however, that doesn’t take away from the ongoing pain and struggle most of our Indigenous population are still facing to this day.

How you can show your support for First Nations peoples, is keeping up to date with important events such as these, educating yourself in grey areas and being present celebrating with your community.

Posting something different, but very important 🤎

Thancoupie Gloria Fletcher was my great great grandmother, whom published a Thaynakwith Dictionary which my family and I are very grateful to have. “Thancoupie has long used the language of her art to convey the legends of her people. This book is the culmination of her life’s work.”

As every other first nations descendant, we are always trying to figure out more about our heritage and culture, unfortunately, with our indigenous languages dying off in some tribes across Australia, not everybody has the privilege of getting a dictionary of their native dialect.

I hope you learnt something new as I am everyday, and enjoy gaining knowledge of Thanakwith language 🖤💛❤️
