It’s been a while since I’ve actually sat down and written something.
Life has been crazy
It’s been rehearse, record, mix tracks, promote, play, perform, play festivals, rehearse for festivals, promote festivals, make the “after festival” video, visit the studio, prepare for a live music video, drive, sleep, cook, eat, post, reply, call, email, stress, don’t stress, recenter, reshare posts to groups, join more groups, check posts, reshare, send out more emails, prepare for the next release…
You know… that kind of thing. 😂
So writing hasn’t really been a priority.
And strangely, neither has just playing.
I mean, I’ve been rehearsing. Lots of rehearsing.
But actually sitting down with an instrument and playing simply because I feel like playing?
That hasn’t happened in ages.
Same with writing.
No sitting down just to write. Not like this. Hmmm...I wonder if I can still rhyme? No wandering off into a song because an idea popped into my head.
There simply hasn’t been the time.
But here I am.
Taking a breath.
Sharing a little moment of this.
Because we’re now one month away from Mish N Possible’s first international tour. 🇦🇺🇯🇵
And wow…
That brings up ALL the things.
The questions.
The doubts.
The excitement.
The “holy guitars, are we actually doing this?” 😂
The desire to get everything right.
To execute everything perfectly.
To control every little detail.
And then I have to remind myself…
Let it go.
Trust.
Trust the journey.
Trust the universe.
Trust that things will unfold as they’re supposed to.
Because when I look back at the journey this music has taken us on so far, so much of it has just flowed without force.
Doors have opened.
People have appeared.
Opportunities have arrived.
And when I remember that, I can breathe again.
I can recalibrate.
I can trust that this will flow too.
I tell ya what though…
Being a musician is one thing.
Being a musician while also being your own publicist, promoter, social media manager, booking assistant, content creator, administrator, marketing department, assistant tour manager and approximately 47 other jobs…
That’s a whole other thing. 😂
It’s more than a full-time job.
But when you love it, you do what you have to do.
You sacrifice certain things because you’re making the dream a reality.
And I genuinely love it.
Even when it’s completely exhausting.
I do, however, look forward to the day when I can sit in the sun, at the beach, with absolutely nothing I have to do…
Just a guitar.
Some coconut water.
And nowhere I need to be.
😂🌴🥥🎸
One day.
Until then…
It’s wild.
It’s been non-stop for ages.
But it’s also beautiful.
Anyway, my lovelies…
That’s me out for now, because I’ve got approximately a million other things to do. 😂
Just remember:
You are awesome.
Everyone is.
Support your fellow artists.
Love your friends.
Boost people up.
Call your mum.
Tell her you love her.
And if your dad’s still alive, forgive him for being too busy to visit.
Magical day to ya
Lotsalove
Mish ❤️
