Voices of Tomorrow ~ Thursday, 22nd. May 2025
Voices of Tomorrow, a spin off of Jazz Singersโ€™ Jam Nights, dedicated to school aged students presented an exciting line up of emerging jazz instrumentalists and vocalists at the Brisbane Jazz Club.
The artists were supported by a great house band, the Kellee Green Trio with Samuel Vincent and Dave Cotgreave and the event was organised and presented by Ingrid James. And the impressive running order for the night was:
Set 1. Kimberley Boag-Hodgson (voice), William Clegg (trombone), Will Greene (drums), James Eller (sax/voice, Gold Coast), Annabelle Abrahams (trombone) and Rowan Farrugia (sax/voice).
Set 2. Levi Kikkert (voice/piano), Grace Strong (voice), Nicholas Noy (sax) and Reuben Spinks (drums), Molly Clements (voice), Bradley Boag-Hodgson (sax), Felix Copeman (drums), and a final jam with Felix on drums joined by James, Rowan and Nicholas on saxes and Levi on voice.
We left reassured that the future of jazz is in good hands...

VOICES of TOMORROW on Thursday 24th October 2024 took off! PHOTOGRAPHER: Michelle Cop. One has to question - "what is in the water these days?". These emerging artists are so evolved musically. Jazz is oozing out of their beings! It's powerful to witness. We had 7 vocalists and 8 instrumentalists, 1 pianist, but there was a lot of multi-skilling going on with instrumentalists doubling up as singers and visa versa. The evening ended in a big jam with P*e Wee Ellis' "The Chicken" driven by our Jaco fan on bass Coby Watson, Bradley Boag-Hodgson on tenor, Rowan Farrugia on alto and the amazing Felix Copeman on drums, and some brave singers and Imogen Williams hopping up for a trombone solo. Other amazing artists included Lucie Robinson, Eliza Wright (vox), Lucinda Dillion (vox), Macy Connolly (vox), Charlie Buick (vox), Ruby Williams (tpt), Kate Harrington (tpt), Margie Wier (sax), Levi Kikkert (voice/piano)....the house trio were so supportive as always with Kellee Green on piano, Samuel Vincent on bass and John Parker on drums. It was night to be remembered. (Ingrid James - host/producer)
