🚨PATHWAY RESIDENCY APPLICATIONS ARE NOW LIVE 🚨

Studio1’s Pathway Residency, supported by Undercover Artist Festival, champions disability-led process + practice exploration for dance + movement artists.

We’re looking for emerging or established artists with a disability-led practice ready to deep dive into a new or existing project / body of work✨

WHAT’S ON OFFER? → 2 weeks of residency at Studio1 → $8,000 cash contribution → Professional support + mentorship → Technical and venue access → Industry connection with Undercover Artist Festival → Work-in-progress showing → Automatic consideration for future Undercover Artist Festival programming

🚨Tickets are officially live for Force Majeure Artistic Director Nick Power’s workshop at Studio1🚨

Explore the choreographic tools and techniques Nick uses to create work — from dismantling and reconstructing movement language, to using space and relational placement to create meaning, and working with hip hop cultural traditions and rituals to create contemporary performance.

The workshop will also include a short professional development session on funding, covering how to articulate your work, identify relevant grants, and examples of Nick’s grant writing specific to Street Dance.

🚨We’re excited to announce that Clare Dark (clare) is the selected artist for our East Coast Connect with Dancenorth Australia 🚨

🌱Clare Dark is an emerging dance artist based in Meanjin/Brisbane, working across performance, choreography, and collaborative making. Dark’s practice combines improvisation, theatricality, costume, and text to create work exploring queerness, humour, endurance, and the reimagining of ballet vocabularies through collaborative, interdisciplinary processes.

As an independent artist, she has performed throughout Queensland and presented choreographic and collaborative works including MAGNA POTENTIALITAS, BAHALA/O, and fairDYKEm, which she continues to develop as an Artist-in-Residence at Studio1🌱

Clare will be spending a week at Dancenorth Australia and cannot wait to see the magic💫

🚨We’re excited to announce that Nadia Milford ( Nadia Milford ) is the selected artist for our East Coast Exchange with Legs On The Wall 🚨

💥Nadia Milford is a performance artist whose work explores belonging in relation to body, people, and place. Grounded in contemporary dance, she creates interdisciplinary works that blend movement, theatre and media, inviting audiences into immersive sensory experiences

‼️During her residency, Nadia will research histories of gathering that follow periods of deep change. She will develop a solo movement language to explore the transformation that marks these times. She will also investigate elements of spectacle, risk, and trust through harness-based movement practices‼️
