Brighton Jetty Sculptures Our vision is to continue to hold a major arts event concluding with the successful annual 7 Brighton Jetty Classic Swim.

About the Event
The event was inspired by Brighton Surf Life Saving Club members after experiencing sculptures at Cottesloe Beach WA, the latter event modeled on the famous Bondi Sculptures by the Sea. While inspired by these events, Brighton Jetty Sculptures differs in that it is a community event free to the public, and it raises funds for the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club. The combination of both arts and sport is a unique and successful community event. Sculptures large and small for outdoor and indoor display will be made from multi media compositions and techniques, and all for sale. While continuing with the exhibition of indoor sculptures, we encourage entry of large outdoor works suitable to be placed in adjacent Bindarra Reserve and along the Sculptures Walk, Esplanade, Brighton beach. This community event was a finalist in the 2012 Ruby Awards in South Australia.

We are thrilled to announce that Eleanor Scicchitano has joined us as Curator of the 2027 Brighton Jetty Sculptures exhibition.

Eleanor is a Kaurna Country Adelaide-based independent curator and writer and has a wealth of knowledge in the arts and years of curatorial experience in successful exhibitions.

Among those is Founder and Director of Post Office Projects Gallery + Studios in Port Adelaide and previous roles include positions at Country Arts SA, Tandanya -NACI, SALA Festival, Helpmann Academy, Adelaide Contemporary Experimental and FELTSpace ARI.

Eleanor joins us for our 20th anniversary edition of the Brighton Jetty Sculptures in what will be our biggest on record.

For twenty years, Brighton Jetty Sculptures has transformed Adelaide’s coastline into an inspiring open-air gallery where art, community and the ocean meet.

What began and, to this day, continues to be a volunteer-led initiative, the exhibition is South Australia’s largest, creating opportunities for artists, enriching public spaces, welcoming hundreds of thousands of visitors, and supporting the life-saving work of the Brighton Surf Life Saving Club.

The 2027 Brighton Jetty Sculptures will run from January 20th until January 31st and we can’t wait to see what has inspired artists this year when entries close in a couple of months.

A stunning sunset look through “Flower Ball” by Judy Manning, framing the foreshore and setting sun beautifully through the three dimensional rusted steel globe of flowers.

The photography competition, sponsored by Creative Soul Studios and Up In Frames , will be back again in 2027 to complement the 20th anniversary edition of the Brighton Jetty Sculptures exhibition.

For artists, entries are open for next year’s exhibition which will be the biggest on record.

One of the most popular artworks at the 2026 Brighton Jetty Sculptures, Sunshine Bloom, has found its home along Jetty Road Glenelg.

The creation, by Chris Murphy from Blue Temper Ironworks, was purchased at City of Holdfast Bay and has been installed on the western corner of Sussex Street and Jetty Road, Glenelg - beside the outdoor dining area near Gelatissimo.

Council’s Public Art Acquisitions Advisory Group has selected this striking steel sculpture by the Middleton artist to become part of the city’s public art collection.

Chris is “very happy” with its location. “I think it looks fantastic here, and I love the pop of colour on Jetty Road.
It’s really cool.”

Entries are now open for the 2027 Brighton Jetty Sculptures in what will be the biggest yet, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.

SA’s biggest sculpture exhibition is the perfect platform for both seasoned and new artists to showcase their works and, like Murphy, provide the opportunity to offer them for sale.

Entries for the 2027 Brighton Jetty Sculptures are now open!

South Australia’s biggest sculpture exhibition will be the biggest yet as we celebrate our 20th anniversary.

We cannot wait to see what artists will create for the 2027 exhibition, with entries officially open now until Saturday November 7.

The Brighton Jetty Sculptures is a volunteer run exhibition which draws over 100,000 visitors annually with over 250 indoor and outdoor artworks on display along the foreshore, Bindarra Reserve and our two marquees.

Aside from the prizemoney on offer artists generally have their works for sale and it’s a great platform to launch your artistic journey.

All the rules, regulations and information for artists is on our website including the registration form.

It’s National Volunteer week and we’d love to take this opportunity to thank all the helping hands that make the Brighton Jetty Sculptures exhibition possible.

The exhibition, South Australia’s biggest sculpture event which attracts over 100,000 visitors annually, is totally volunteer run.

And next year will our 20th anniversary and our biggest yet!

From the planning, to the admin tents, manning the marquees, to the kitchen, we thank each and other volunteer that brings the exhibition to life and makes this opportunity for artists to showcase their works possible.

Later this year as always we will be calling for volunteers that want to share that passion and to help out at what will be a huge 20th anniversary edition of the 2027 Brighton Jetty Sculptures

Join us for our annual BJS Quiz Night - Saturday 30th May.

Aside from the tense quiz play, there will be monster raffles, a silent auction and lots of fun to be had!

This year’s theme is Loud Shirts so look out your loudest and gather your friends for a good night out together at the BSLSC.

Food will be available from our new bistro - CARO club between 5pm -7pm before we start the proceedings, so why not join us for a bite to eat before we get started in our fun annual event.
