Brighton Theatre Company

Brighton Theatre Company Delivering quality theatre production to Melbourne for 50 years, tickets via 0493 069 479 BTC stages four productions each year.

Established in 1976, BTC was known as Brighton Repertory Theatre, changing to Brighton Theatre Company in 1984. Granted use of a ground floor section of the Bayside Arts & Cultural Centre, with a separate entry from Carpenter Street (now Wilson Street), the Clocktower Theatre opened in 1999, giving Brighton Theatre Company a permanent home. The company aims to produce a range of theatrical experie

nces from comedy to drama, by a wide variety of Australian and overseas authors. Our directors are chosen from around Victoria, each one bringing new ideas and a wealth of experience for us to learn from. Feedback from patrons is strongly encouraged, as we like to produce the kind of theatre that audiences enjoy, as well as giving our casts and crew members the opportunity to extend their creativity and further their technical skills. BTC productions are always an entertaining night out, with highly enjoyable extras such as pre-show sherries, followed by supper after the final curtain and a chance to meet the cast & crew. Our programmes are free of charge and there is ample free-parking nearby as well. You can't ask for more than that! BTC is a proud member of the Victorian Drama League. How long could you hold onto a secret?

Louise Gracey returns to Brighton as Meridee

Alec Hobbes, famed genius, social Darwinist and artificial intelligence researcher is dead. But his computer algorithm lives on, still working away in his study, and his widow Meridee tiptoes around the machine much like she did around her husband for most of their marriage. Her friends Judith and Lydia turn up to shake their friend out of her isolation and self-neglect. What promises to be a weekend of laughter and wine turns comically savage when Hester arrives and truths about the past start to tear at the fabric of friendship

Wicked Sisters runs from the 15th to 30th of May.
