Hi Everyone, the 2026 Dance Examinations are being held on October 24th commencing at 10.30am at the Bright Studio this year we have one of Australias' top examiners attending.

Students are to arrive 15 minutes prior to examination no make-up, hair in neat bun style for classical and all black uniform items.
Dress Code Classical ballet students please bring your rehearsal black rehearsal tutus to class and in examination all black leotard, black chiffon skirt, pink tights, pink ballet shoes and pointe shoes plus black tutu for Elementary level students. Jazz students black leggings and leotard or singlet style, tan jazz shoes and hair up in pony tale style or bun. No Make-up or jewelry is worn to examinations. Tonight I will be confirming students numbers and submitting them to the exam board this week.

OPEN EXAMINATION VIEWING CLASSES

Examinations are a great opportunity to work toward a higher level of ballet and a recognised qualification. Students will present examination work at open studio classes the week prior to examination so any students interested in joining examining classes next year are welcome to come and view students as they present their examination work. Open Studio classes include:Tuesday 20th Jazz 4.30pm - 5.30pmClassical Ballet Level 7 (Silver Star) 5.30-6.30pm.

During Open Week in December I will commence new examination for 2027 and there will be some classes that are specifically examination based and others that are Open material and I encourage all incoming examination students to join into these classes! Call or text me if you need more information.

Hi Everyone! ALL Classes both Dance and Pilates recommence tomorrow for the Winter Term!

This Term we will be commencing our new show "The Greatest Show" which incorporates the Junior Cast show "Dumbo". Actos in Junior Cast you will receive your script shortly as I am still making modifications to the script it has not yet been sent and senior cast you can commence learning your lines.

Examination students will be registered this term and our Examination date is October 24th. Information on specific examination times and exam slips with information will be given out shortly. Those students who are sitting classsical ballet examinations will need their Black leotards, chiffon skirts, pink tights, shoes with ribbons, black rehearsal tutu and those students sitting jazz examinations will require black leggings, black leotard and jazz shoes. After I have registered your student you will receive confirmation of registration the current examination classes this year are Tuesday Jazz (Level 7), Tuesday Ballet (Level 7), Saturday Ballet (Elementary - pre-professional Level 1). This Term I will ensure all students wanting to sit exams are up to examination standard in class.If you are not in one of those classes and are wanting to start examinations in next years group you are welcome to come and watch any classes of those you like to famliarise yourself with the process and then enrole at the end of the examinations into those groups as we commence new levels in December this year.

We have expanded our Aerial programme to include an extra Beginners class on Fridays at 4.30pm we currently have one space available in that class if anyone is still wanting to join and also one space left in the Thursday 5.15pm Senior class (11 and up)! We will be focusied on expanding the students technical range this term in Aerials and then eah student will be working toward performing a solo at the end of the year Aerials Show at EMPAC.

Pilates students I am possibly adding a new class 'Loaded Pilates' to the timetable which incorporates slightly heavier weight training with the reformer, let me know if you might be interested in this class and I'll timetable it in if there is enough interest! Im looking forward to training everyone this term. See you in class!

Hi everyone, with the unrelenting rain this morning we will need to shift the bend the air rehearsal to Myrtleford studio for anyone who wants to train starting 11.30am to 1pm for both silks and Lyra. I will be retaping rigging as required and if you need to collect costumes from us I will have them there. Thanks!

BEND THE AIR PRE-COMPETITION SQUAD TRAINING:
ALL SQUAD members OPEN RIG training and costume check from Tuesday 11am-12pm SILKS and 12-1pm LYRA. Routines must be performed in costume to check no costume malfunctions or problems and also as I am providing a lot of the apparatus that you perform on the actual apparatus you will be on during the competition will be retaped over the coming days to be ready for comeptition and you need to work on it. TERM 3 AERIALS PROGRAMME
Hi Everyone as I am having to move a few things around atm to allow for people to go away for winter and new students to commence the programme there are few changes to the Aerials class times and new classes added so I will be emailing a separate email with your Aerials Term 3 group lists on it. Please check your time I have scheduled you in for a nd if it is different please contact me if it does not suit. I am creating classes with levels that are better matched for the benefit of all studsents in the programme. Thanks!

Hi everyone if it’s raining in bright today at 12.30pm I will hold all aerials at myrtleford studio in two groups as I have six rigs there. ALL Silks students can attend the 1.30pm -2.30pm session and ALL Lyra 2.30-3.30pm doesn’t matter what your regular time is. I’ll confirm this at 11.30am today! Thsnks!

Hi Everyone, I have decided to commence the Aerials showcase at 2pm as I need there to be enough light for students to be filmed for Bend the Air even though I will add lighting into the bottom of the rigs. This will give us a little tiem for me to adjust rig heights and reset for filming if required! Students who have regular Aerials classes in the two last silks sessions 2pm and 2.45pm sessions can come into the the first 12.30pm session to warm up with the other students who have class at that time as I will be finaling music cuts and lending some costumes to some Bend the Air Auditionees for the taping. Below is a Running Order of when you will appear please let me know if you are in the earlier times and you cannot make it to see your student and will put them on at the end of the session to allow time for you to get there.

MIDYEAR SHOW

Smurfs and Heathers 1980s Double Bill Showcase

Wednesday 3rd 4pm - 7.30pm Technical Rehearsal

ALL Senior Cast plus Actors Ensemble and Musical Theatre Myrtleford are required. (NOT REQUIRED Junior students and Tiny Dancers.)

Thursday 11th Dress Rehearsal 4 - 8pm

ALL CAST required both senior and junior. Junior Students who are NOT appearing in Heathers may leave after the First Act has been run (approximately 6pm). TINY DANCERS are not required. Students must bring their costumes, tights, shoes with them to the venue where they will leave in dressing rooms overnight.

Friday 12th June 6pm Show 1

All students must arrive no later than 5pm with hair and make-up already done ready to warm-up.

Saturday 13th June 5.30pm Show 2

All students must arrive no later than 4.30pm with hair and make-up done ready to warm-up.

MID-YEAR AERIALS AND ACROBATICS SHOWCASE:

Saturday May 23rd 3.30-5pm Bright Studio Outdoor Rigs
Come and support our young aerialists and acrobats as they practice their mid-year routines and rehearse and film for Bend the Air heats this July in Melbourne. I have placed the showcase on this weekend to maximise the amount of time we have before audition reels are due in. There will be the opportunity to enter in the Sydney Heats later in the year if the team members are interested also!
