Hi everyone if it’s raining in bright today at 12.30pm I will hold all aerials at myrtleford studio in two groups as I have six rigs there. ALL Silks students can attend the 1.30pm -2.30pm session and ALL Lyra 2.30-3.30pm doesn’t matter what your regular time is. I’ll confirm this at 11.30am today! Thsnks!

Hi Everyone, I have decided to commence the Aerials showcase at 2pm as I need there to be enough light for students to be filmed for Bend the Air even though I will add lighting into the bottom of the rigs. This will give us a little tiem for me to adjust rig heights and reset for filming if required! Students who have regular Aerials classes in the two last silks sessions 2pm and 2.45pm sessions can come into the the first 12.30pm session to warm up with the other students who have class at that time as I will be finaling music cuts and lending some costumes to some Bend the Air Auditionees for the taping. Below is a Running Order of when you will appear please let me know if you are in the earlier times and you cannot make it to see your student and will put them on at the end of the session to allow time for you to get there.

MIDYEAR SHOW

Smurfs and Heathers 1980s Double Bill Showcase

Wednesday 3rd 4pm - 7.30pm Technical Rehearsal

ALL Senior Cast plus Actors Ensemble and Musical Theatre Myrtleford are required. (NOT REQUIRED Junior students and Tiny Dancers.)

Thursday 11th Dress Rehearsal 4 - 8pm

ALL CAST required both senior and junior. Junior Students who are NOT appearing in Heathers may leave after the First Act has been run (approximately 6pm). TINY DANCERS are not required. Students must bring their costumes, tights, shoes with them to the venue where they will leave in dressing rooms overnight.

Friday 12th June 6pm Show 1

All students must arrive no later than 5pm with hair and make-up already done ready to warm-up.

Saturday 13th June 5.30pm Show 2

All students must arrive no later than 4.30pm with hair and make-up done ready to warm-up.

MID-YEAR AERIALS AND ACROBATICS SHOWCASE:

Saturday May 23rd 3.30-5pm Bright Studio Outdoor Rigs
Come and support our young aerialists and acrobats as they practice their mid-year routines and rehearse and film for Bend the Air heats this July in Melbourne. I have placed the showcase on this weekend to maximise the amount of time we have before audition reels are due in. There will be the opportunity to enter in the Sydney Heats later in the year if the team members are interested also!

SINGERS MID-YEAR SHOWCASE

Saturday June 20th 6.30pm Myrtleford Studio

Hi Everyone, ALL classes in both Dance and Pilates recommence for Term 2 tommorrow Monday 20th April. All class times remain the same apart from:Thursday Reformer commences at 6.45pm instead of 7.30pm.

We have an exciting Term coming up with the Smurfs/Heathers Performance in June, the singers showcase at Myrtleford Studio and the Aerial Winter Performance in late May at Bright Studio. All dates will be sent out via email this coming week when I have confirmed all of the theatre details. Bend the Air Competition is running in Melbourne Heats in July 3-5th and Audition tapes are due in by May 30th which I have already confirmed via email last week.

ALL costumes are to be collected for the mid-year performance this week and adjustments can be made if required. Iis going to be a great term and I look forward as always to assisting all students perform to their best level in our public showcases. If you are adding classes in please contact me tonight and I'll add you into our class lists.

Hi Everyone, we are now moving into the Easter School Holidays and Autumn Term programmes so below is a list of the Casual Pilates Reformer Classes I am running over the Easter Holidays which runs from Good Friday Monday 6th to 19th April and we restart our regular timetable on the Monday 20th. Please book into any of these by emailing me or texting me. Casual cash payment ( $30) at each session for these classes thanks!

PILATES HOLIDAY CLASSES

Tuesday 7th - 8-9am Bright Studio and 5.30pm Myrtleford Studio

Wednesday 8th - 7.30-8.30am Myrtleford Studio

Thursday 9th - 8-9am Bright Studio and 5.30pm Myrtleford Studio

Tuesday 15th 8-9am Bright Studio and 5.30pm Myrtleford Studio

BEND THE AIR PRIVATE CHOREOGRAPHY BOOKING TIMES

These times I am going to be available for booking for competition choreography privates. I will discuss the music selection this week so I can start choreographing for each individual student this week. Most students picked up their choreographies in around 2-3 private sessions. Once your student has been given their individual choreography they are free to use the Open Rig Training sessions which are available only to Bend the Air students commencing for the first month of Term 2 until our Audition tapes have been sent. I am recommending students try to train an extra session per week going over their choreographies minimum to get their stamina where it needs to be to perform their routines for the compete 3 minutes as the audition tapes cannot be cut they must be sent as one take. Please email me or text me to start booking times in,each private session will be 45 min long I find that this maximises the students ability to pick up and retain material. Students can compete in these divisions Silks, Lyra, Acrobatics and Mixed Apparatus. Age divisions are Minis 7-9, Minis 10-12, Teens 13-17, 18 and over and Masters 30 and over. These times are now available at Bright Studio:

Tuesday7th: 9.30am, 10.15am,11am, 11.45am, 12.30pm, 1pm, 1.45pm, 2.30pm

Wednesday8th:9.30am,10.15am,11am,11.45am,12.30pm,1pm,1.45pm, 2.30pm

Thursday9th:9.30am,10.15am,11am,11.45am,12.30pm1pm1.45pm2.30pm

Tuesday and Wednesday 15th and 16th same times are open.
If your student is successful in gaining entry to the Melbourne Bend the Air Heats then we will discuss costume requirements and Squad training will commence for students who have been accepted joining our Competitive Air Squad. Good Luck for all students who are going to give this a go, it is a super fun experience and really worth the effort! The students get to perform in NICA the National Institute of Circus Arts the top circus training institution in Australia and get super inspired by watching all the other competitors in a really friendly environment!
