Cast introduction! Meet Leon playing Pete, fixing pipes, finding courage, and falling hopelessly in love

Leon Asplin is an emerging actor who has been performing from a young age. He has appeared in multiple stage productions as well as a film production, and has continued to develop his craft through acting masterclasses, including one with Australian actor Myles Pollard.
In The Kitchen Sink, Leon takes on the role of Pete, bringing his enthusiasm for performance and character development to the production.
Leon particularly enjoys the process of bringing characters to life and the challenge of performing live on stage — including, hopefully, remembering all of his lines along the way.

Cast introduction! Meet David playing Billy, finding his voice through art, one Dolly portrait at a time!

David has been involved in theatre since the age of nine, beginning his stage career in 2020 as a rat in Bridgetown’s pantomime production Trouble 07. Following that experience, he joined Bridgetown Youth Theatre, where he has continued to develop his skills through a variety of productions.
His work with BYT has included roles in Fantastic Mr. Fox, Hotel Sorrento, The Little Prince and, most recently, Billy in The Kitchen Sink. David has also developed an interest in theatre beyond acting, contributing to productions through lighting and script development.
For David, theatre has become an important part of his life, providing opportunities to explore character, storytelling and the relationships that develop through working as part of a production.

Cast introduction! Meet Lyrix playing Sophie, she knows how to fight. Feelings are another matter!

Lyrix Carlson, 18, has been involved in theatre since 2016, beginning with KAOS and later performing with Bridgetown Youth Theatre, pantomimes and school drama productions.
In The Kitchen Sink, Lyrix takes on the role of Sophie, a fiery and outspoken character whose larger-than-life personality has provided an enjoyable challenge to bring to the stage.
Away from acting, Lyrix enjoys singing, playing guitar and piano, writing songs and poetry, roller skating, and arts and crafts.

Cast introduction! Meet James playing Martin, a milkman holding onto the life he has always known.

James’ exploits in acting began in 1994 when he took on the role of Malvolio in Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Since that performance he has enjoyed a variety of dramatic, comedic and musical roles working with a variety of amateur theatre companies across regional WA.

Between 2002 and 2008 however he was a professional stage actor performing primarily in Shakespearean productions with Class Act and Bare-Naked Theatre groups in theatres across Perth and during extensive regional WA tours. Selected significant roles include Banquo, Ross and Macduff in two separate productions of Macbeth, Roderigo in Othello, Touchstone in As You Like It, Capulet in Romeo and Juliet and The Host in The Canterbury Tales.

In 2004 he played Klaus Schmit in the Australian Opera Company’s production of Batavia staged at His Majesty’s Theatre as part of that year’s Perth International Arts Festival.
He has also worked backstage as a theatre production manager, stagehand and flyman.

Cast introduction! Meet Kath playing Kath, the mother keeping the whole family together.

Kath’s lifelong love of theatre began during her school and college years, and she has since enjoyed performing in a wide variety of productions with Bridgetown Repertory Theatre.

Her first performance with the company came in 2019, when she appeared in the murder mystery Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders. Since then, she has taken on both large and small roles across a diverse range of productions, including the radio play Under Milk Wood, the pantomime Trouble 07: Licensed to Panto, the children’s classic Fantastic Mr. Fox, the musical Ladies in Black, the One Act Play collaboration A Tale of 2 Towns with Manjimup Repertory Theatre, and the family drama Hotel Sorrento.

Whatever the production or size of the role, Kath particularly enjoys the challenge of bringing characters to life and telling their stories on stage.
