Get Creative with the Braidwood Quilt Store Challenge 2026 ✨
This year, we're inviting you to create a festive table runner (40 cm × 100 cm) inspired by the celebrations that are special to you. Whether it's Christmas, Hanukkah, Diwali, Easter, birthdays, New Year, Pride, or another meaningful tradition, let your creativity tell the story.
All textile mediums are welcome, including quilting, embroidery, crochet, felting, appliqué, collage, painting on fabric and more. Just make sure your table runner meets the required dimensions and includes a hanging sleeve for display on Wallace Street during the annual Community Bank Braidwood Airing of the Quilts.
Enter as many table runners as you like, and don't forget to invite your friends, quilting groups, craft clubs and guilds to join in. We also have a Junior Category, so we'd love to see young makers take part!
Finished table runners with a completed entry form must arrive at the Braidwood Quilt Store by Friday 20 November 2026
Entries will be available for collection on Sunday 29 November after the quilt exhibition is closed, at the Quilt Store during regular opening hours after the festival or if you prefer pieces can be returned to you by post. If returning by post please provide a prepaid, self-addressed package with your Table Runners.

TRIBUTE to JENNY WALLACE
.
As part of the ‘Community Bank Braidwood Airing of the Quilts’ festival 2026, we are planning a ‘Tribute to Jenny Wallace’ which will be staged in St Andrews Uniting Church. Jenny was a much-loved quilter, quilt teacher and Braidwood local, who sadly passed away earlier this year.
Many Braidwood locals were lucky recipients of Jenny’s quilts, and as part of the Tribute, we would love to display as many of the quilts Jenny made as possible. If you have a ‘Jenny’ quilt we would very much appreciate the loan of the quilt for the weekend.
If you were taught to quilt by Jenny, we would also like, as part of the display, to show off your first quilt too.
Do you have a story, some photos or memories of Jenny you would like to share? We’d love to include them on our Tribute Wall.

✨ Braidwood Airing of the Quilts 2026 ✨

We’re delighted to share that the Braidwood Airing of the Quilts will be going ahead in 2026 on 28th & 29th November! 🎉

After many years of dedication, the Braidwood Quilters and Textiles Group will be stepping back from the organisation of the event. Their hard work has helped shape the Airing into the vibrant and much-loved celebration it is today, and we thank them for their contribution.

While this marks the end of an era, we’re excited to see the event continue and evolve, bringing colour, craft, and connection to the streets of Braidwood once again.
