Box Hill Academy Brass Box Hill Academy of Brass is a brass band program for beginner to advanced brass and percussion students aged 6+.

We are proud 2024 & 2025 Australian National Champions 🏆 and 2025 New Zealand National Champions 🏆 Box Hill Academy of Brass was established in 2013 as a band for beginner brass students aged 5+. The main objective of BHAB is to promote ensemble skills, which help to develop collaborative learning and teamwork. Rehearsals present a fun and friendly atmosphere in which new players can learn to play a brass instrument. All ages and abilities welcome, no previous experience with music is required.

🎵Bendigo Eisteddfod - Junior Brass Section 🎵

Although we couldn’t take photos in the hall, Tim captured some great action-shots during our warm up!

The band loved performing on the big stage for esteemed adjudicator Dr. Matthew van Emmerik and the supportive families and friends in the audience. Although we didn’t get to hear Bendigo Youth Brass perform, it was great seeing all of the young brass players around the hall.

⭐ Last weekend, our training band had a fantastic time at the Bendigo Competitions Society Eisteddfod, competing in the Junior Brass Band section! ⭐

We were very grateful to our fantastic photographer, Tim, for making the trip up from Melbourne to capture much of the wonderful day! Here are some photos from before we went into the warm-up room.

We have a few thank-yous and would like to start by expressing our gratitude to all of the volunteers and organisers for running such a great event that enables our young players to perform on a big stage! 🎺🎵🥁

A number of Box Hill Academy Brass players marched in the Melbourne ANZAC Day parade on Saturday.

Led by Drum Major, Franz Munnich, players from Box Hill City Band, Whitehorse Brass and Box Hill Academy Brass combined to form a 40 piece marching band, marching from St. Paul’s Cathedral to the Shrine of Remembrance, leading the Royal Australian Air Force Vietnam Veterans.

It was a stunning day and we enjoyed every minute of it 🌺
