FREE SATURDAY AFTERNOON CONCERT

Saturday 3rd September at 2pm

Box Hill Chorale is pleased to be performing a free public concert, in association with choirs and strings from hosts Christian College Geelong, and fellow guest ensemble Melbourne University Choral Society. These ensembles will perform a capella motets and short works for piano and choir, accompanied by William Schmidt and conducted by Andrew Wailes. Music includes items by Purcell, Pitoni, Bruckner, Fauré, Chillcot, Rutter, Whitacre, Forrest, Gjeilo, Burton Lane and more.

Doors open 1.45pm. Concert 2pm -3.15pm

Members of Box Hill Chorale were proud to be a part of the 2022 RMP Oratorio Festival Choir which performed at the conclusion of the 16th RMP Aria hosted by the Royal Melbourne Philharmonic at Deakin Edge on Sunday evening. Box Hill Chorale members are excited to be performing the Rutter Requiem alongside our friends from MUCS and the RMP choir and orchestra at 3pm, and after the 7pm RMP Aria Final at Deakin Edge on Sunday 14 August. Book via www.rmp.org.au. This is always such a wonderful evening, we encourage everyone to come along. Congratulations to the wonderful finalists who have been selected to compete this year! With so many concerts having been postponed or canceled in the last two years, it will be terrific to be back on stage at Deakin Edge, so we'd love to see as many friends of BHC and former BHC members there as possible to cheer us all on! Hear some of Australia's finest soloists compete for the 2022 RMP Aria, which will also feature two performances of John Rutter's beautiful Requiem, performed by BHC members singing as part of the RMP Oratorio Festival Choir, and members of the RMP Orchestra. Tickets to the 7pm evening Gala include a post-concert champagne supper.

Our good friends at the Salvation Army are holding a “Choir Connection Day” at Box Hill Salvos on Saturday 16 July.

The afternoon workshop will take place at the new Box Hill Salvos facility, 1010 Whitehorse Rd, Box Hill commencing at 1.30pm and will conclude with a concert at 7.30pm. Afternoon tea and dinner will be provided. Cost for the day is $20.
