Step into a world of colour, mystery and imagination as the Artists of the Round Yard (ARY) collective invites you to explore this exciting multidisciplinary exhibition. Featuring the work of 15 artists, Carnival Carnivale explores public joy and backstage intrigue through sculpture, assemblage, painting and multimedia.

Discover two unique gallery spaces at the beautiful Retford Park property in Bowral: The White Cottage Gallery and the historic Round Yard.

The exhibition runs from Saturday, 3rd October to Sunday, 22nd November 2026. Join us for the official opening on Sunday, 4th October, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. The exhibition will be opened by Nick Rheinberger, ABC Radio presenter, musician and writer. Admission is free and drinks and canapés will be served.

At the fabulous opening of ARY member, Justin Pearson's solo show 'Integration' at BDAS,
Brock Sykes and Chris ward discuss the art in the room of sculptural portraits reimagined in colour. In the main gallery, vibrantly coloured tendrils of oil paint form fantastical landscapes that merge spirit of place with the artist's psyche. Pearson's black and white portraits from sculptures encountered on his travels take us on a 'who's who' jouney through art history.
Take yourself along for an immersive experience of this visionary artist's oeuvre at Bowral Art Gallery.

Kaboom!' with lilies. Justin Pearson's magnificent cosmic painting sets the theme for 'Nebulae' and lilies, arranged by talented National Trust volunteer, John bring us back to planet Earth. See eight ARY artists bring their original interpretations to this fabulous theme in jewellery, textile art, poetic, figurative, genre and landscape paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, metal and glass in the White Cottage Gallery and the magnificent Round Yard at Retford Park, a property of the National Trust - 10am - 4pm Wed -Sun, until Sunday 17th May. You can also read the interpretive artists' statements and the wonderful opening speech by Jane Cush on our wall texts. ARY participaing artists take turns to mind the show. In our 'Nebulae' exhibition, tuned wind chimes by Tracy Hopkirk. Artist, .daidone visited with musician partner, David. He felt that the the chimes sound like black piano keys and the cadence of notes reminded him of Pink Floyd's 'Time' from 'Dark Side of the Moon'.
Why not come by to play the chimes and listen to their actual sounds in the lively accoustic space of the Round Yard. You can play them and see our whole exhibition inboth the Round Yard and White Cottage Gallery, Wed to Sun 10am-4pm until Sunday 17 May.
