The right details are what turn ordinary writing into extraordinary writing. Whether it is fiction, non-fiction, memoir or poetry, the things we choose to put in are important, as well as what we choose to leave out. If we are not writing about subjects we know intimately, we are going to have to choose where to look to find these details, and practice paying close attention. So much fun, wonderful stories written, lots of laughter, meaningful writerly conversations, brainstorming, new ideas generated, tips & tricks exchanged. The Story Alchemist, Creativity Writing Retreat continued with Day 2 filled with more fun, sensory excursions, writing prompts and exercises, more delicious food, more wonderful conversation and laughter, then finished off with creative musical relaxation and drawing leading many to sleep oh so well. Closed out the day keen to see what Day 3 would bring certain that our fabulous facilitator Dr Betty O'Neill would have more tricks and tips to unlock our creativity.

The Story Alchemist, our Creative Writing Retreat with Dr Betty O'Neill kicked off to a great start with authors arriving at beautiful Bundanoon Guest House last Sunday evening to a delicious welcome dinner. Day 1 was filled with fun and laughter as we learned, created, collaborated, wrote stories, took time out, ate delicious meals, made new friends and reconnected with those we haven't seen for some time...and were challenged to move forward from our comfort zone. We closed the day all very much looking forward to what tomorrow would bring!
