The Back O’ Bourke Stampede Committee has made the decision to move the Back O’ Bourke Stampede Rodeo to a biennial event, meaning it will now be held every second year.

As a result, there will be no rodeo in 2026, with our next event planned for 2027.

This decision has not been made lightly. As a volunteer-run event, an enormous amount of planning, fundraising and volunteer hours go into making the Stampede possible. Moving to a biennial format will allow us to deliver a stronger, more sustainable event while ensuring its future for years to come.

We are also looking to welcome new committee members to help shape the future of the Back O’ Bourke Stampede. Whether you have previous experience or are simply passionate about supporting our community, we’d love to hear from you.

We sincerely thank our sponsors, competitors, volunteers and the Bourke community for your ongoing support and understanding. We look forward to welcoming everyone back in 2027 🤠

The Back O Bourke Stampede - Annual General Meeting is here and we’d love to see some new and familiar faces come along.

This event is one of the biggest on Bourke’s calendar and it takes a passionate committee behind the scenes to make it all happen 💪🏽

Ben Rasmussen took out the win with an unbelievable 89.5-point ride at this year’s Back O’ Bourke Stampede 🤠🔥

Travelling in from his hometown of Nevertire, Ben brought pure talent to the heart of the outback.

Ben’s show-stopping ride had the entire crowd’s eyes glued to the arena — one of those moments you feel in your chest.

After Ben’s winning ride, he told us: “You guys have brought a world-class event out to Bourke.”
Words like that, from one of Australia’s top saddle bronc riders, mean everything and is the reason we will keep pushing for bigger and better 🤎🐎

🤍 Behind every great event is an even greater team.

To our Back O’ Bourke Stampede committee – thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Countless hours, late nights, early mornings, and so much blood, sweat and tears went into bringing this rodeo to life, and it simply wouldn’t have been possible without each of you.

It takes grit, heart, dedication, passion, and true community spirit to pull off something of this scale and you showed up in every way possible. Every decision, every task, every little detail came together, you gave it your all and left nothing behind to create something Bourke can be proud of.

Together, we’ve honoured tradition, created memories, and built something truly special for our town.

From setting up the arena to packing it all down, covering the gates, bar, tickets, merchandise, clean-up, and everything in between – our incredible volunteers and helpers were the heartbeat of the 2025 Back O’ Bourke Stampede. 💛

It’s the strong Bourke community spirit – rolling up your sleeves, getting in, helping out, and doing it with pride that makes this event possible. Without each and every one of you, we simply couldn’t put on a rodeo of this scale.

From the bottom of our hearts – thank you. 🤠 You are the quiet heroes of the Stampede, and we’re so grateful for the time, effort, and spirit you brought to make it all happen 💛 ✨
